I actually do believe her allegations were, let's call it, "based on a true story". You need to understand one thing about people like Quinn, they don't simply fabricate shit; they weaponize truth, or distort real events to suit themselves. Sure, you can call the act of distortion or weaponization "lying", and it certainly is, but don't mistake it for being completely untruthful because weaponized truth, and half-truth, is far more powerful. Worse, people like Quinn may even believe their own lies, because they're likely to distort their memories, or perception of events, to fit the lie rather than the other way around.
It's pretty common for people with personality disorders -- borderline, bipolar, antisocial -- to end up into kink and BDSM. Especially for the fact a ton of people incorrectly, and dangerously, romanticize kink as a form of therapy to replace professional help. There are a lot of in-roads to it, whether they're trying to self-treat, avoid seeking help or strengthen denial, were talked into it by an abusive partner or trying to internalize and process past trauma, distort self-image or indulge distorted self-image, or as a coping mechanism for trauma-inflicted sexual issues. It's all very complex and interconnected with repetition compulsion and revictimization, too complex for me to be fully equipped to discuss it at length or be willing to do so in a single forum post, but it is what it is.
The problem is, people with untreated personality disorders practicing kink are live hand grenades. Sooner or later it's going off, there ain't a damn thing you can do about it except either jump on it to avoid collateral damage or duck and cover to avoid shrapnel. So you have the bipolar or borderline chick who likes to be hogtied, clamped, spanked until she bleeds, choked, and throat fucked until she pukes all over herself or whatever, great. So what happens when this chick has an episode, gets filled with revulsion for what she not just consented to but probably asked for in the first place, and rationalizes no, that can't be her, she wasn't in the right headspace and never would have consented to that, so clearly it has to be rape!?
And what happens when that chick is surrounded by a hugbox who coddles her, indulges her every whim, and enables her episodes without a single person around to reality check?
That's all before you factor in the fact someone like Quinn is radioactively manipulative and narcissistic, who has clearly learned how to weaponize her own issues for personal gain. Simply practicing kink has horrendous optics, let alone post-#MeToo, let alone within degenerate and double standard-ridden social justice and soy culture. But I have my own thoughts on that of which I have personal experience, that I'll discuss at another time.
I have no doubt the events Quinn described actually happened. I also believe they were almost certainly consensual, if not negotiated, something Quinn either omitted or rationalized out of memory to best-fit her self-perception. In other words, "true enough" to stick when strategically deployed for maximum personal gain.
