Trying to wrap my head around Chupp throwing out judgements so fast and seemingly having a way higher than normal requirement for evidence. This was a TCPA hearing, how the fuck is a plaintiff supposed to give detailed evidence while there's a discovery stay? Oh and lets not forget 2 of the defendants purposely engaged in discovery abuse prior to filing their TCPA.

Between Ty boomering up the affadavits, Chupp denying all of the plaintiff's motions to strike from the Funimation TCPA and Chupp's strange way of handling tweets and needing huge amounts of context I'm going to chalk this all up as a shitshow and a big waste of people's time and money to some extent.

Also, gotta love the judge not counting the 2nd amended complaint but allowing the defendant's supplemental material through despite it being after their TCPA deadline, gotta love how impartial that is.

Also did Chupp/his clerk not bother to look over anything for this case? He asked about what cons dropped Vic after this all started but it was right there in his fucking deposition.

It's really not though. You've seen how they persist in action.
Maybe to combat the SJW's, people must play them at their own sociopathic game. If they could get away with something like making up a lie to get someone fired, who's to say someone won't just make up a lie to that same person to get their livelihoods destroyed? Why not? The judge clearly permits it.

I just want to see if this whole thing will cause a bigger shitshow win or lose to be honest, it seems that the dubbing companies, crunchy roll shills and weebs are all tearing themselves apart with this, when ever the case gets a decision I think all of them will find a way to be at each others throats at the end of this somehow.

if thats the case why didn't he show up in court?
He can't afford the Greyhound

At least this came from a source that understands law terms. It's safe to say that TI got dismissed.

Alright, so my first post was right afterall.

Yeah, that's bullshit. The judge has his head up his ass. Slatosch's declaration/affidavit was the single strongest piece of evidence that Vic absolutely had a case. I would appeal that much at least.

Oh well.

Hasn't it always been mentioned that TI is hard to prove in court? The Internet surely has made it easier to identify because morons can't keep their mouths shut and keep their ducks all in a row, but if the court system's still behind on how the Internet works, that was always going to be the most difficult to keep on the table. Also, Stan reinvited Vic back to the con therefore making it moot, but there was no word on the other cons that kept him dropped.

This wasn't about proving it in court today, that's not what the TCPA is.

I'm glad I decided to tune out till after everything had finished up, this thread seemed absolutely awful live going by what I skimmed through. Hopefully, what made it past the TCPA hearing sticks but even if everything gets tossed it won't make me stop not giving a care about the Western anime industry besides the odd Discotek/Sentai release.

If WW does disappear off KF then I guess I'll just have to find some other threads to dwell, my time here has been fun enough that I don't see myself bailing on the site as a whole. I will miss talking about weeb stuff but what can you do?

What have I logged into?? I’m all caught up now, at least, I think. Not too much to say. We’ll see how much, if any, Judge Chupp will let move into trial. Clearly not what most people expected, I think.

Reading through the thread, I’m confused. Is Vic allowed to challenge some rulings while the judge is still deliberating on the last 5 counts?

My first thought is that Chupp can't be arsed with the case (because of the stupid amounts of filings and bickering or whatever) and decided that he didn't want to do what the people of Tarrant County pay him to do.
