It doesn't matter that Vic got invited back, at least for purposes of TCPA, because the original contract was still broken and a separate contract was made. Doesn't matter if he has no specific numerical damages, because that's simply not what the TCPA is for, both in spirit and letter of the law.

I dont understand this one. For exemple If i fail to commit a fraud cant i still be charged for attempted fraud? Wouldnt the same apply? So TI only applies if it there was damage?

According to that person tweeting, Chupp was not convinced Vic suffered any damages from the cancellation and subsequent re-invite.

Sounds like he's being sarcastic, but i'll wait for the rest to come out.

Is this even acceptable? How do people know whether he was serious or not? It's kind of important.
I'm all for some snark, don't get me wrong, but this is just confusing. How does that work?

Gee Chubbs, 25ish people is all it takes to get public figure status huh.

IANAL but there's no way that's how public figure status works
I know he was probably just making a joke while still agreeing, but if all it takes for you to be considered a public figure, even when determined the defamation was made prior to anything even resembling public figure status, is a room full of people, then public figures could literally be anyone who can draw in a crowd. You could defame a literal clown if you manage to advertise it enough and have enough people come into the courtroom by that standard.

Sam deserves a round of applause, most competent lawyer, didn't sperg out on twitter or anything, consistently fucked with Ty, really did a great job

And to think, it all came from some strip-mall lawyer, what a dude. Sam Johnson did his client right.
I mean from the start he showed himself to be professional and his fillings werent a fucking mess like everyone else.

I think Ty fumbled hard. Shit like the affidavits should have been put in way early to avoid any stupidities like what happened and Ty's tactic of giving as good as he received just ended up pissing off the judge.

This isn't the first time Nick mentioned that Sam impressed him. I think even Ty mentioned something along those lines in one of the recent streams. Pity there's no love for Lemoine :(

Sam Johnson's also been keeping the sperg-levels low, which undoubtably helped. Chupp is definitely not interested in mediating a sperg-out with paperwork that deforests acres. Plus, it means that it was done with a relatively minimal level of attorney costs, which is a huge win overall.

Was the amount of money Vic had to pay for extra security, extra staff, and a separate place to sign autographs not shown as a dollar amount? Wasn't that the new contract that had to be agreed upon?
