Naaa...No matter what, Huber's the real MVP. That guy pulled back the curtain and came out with both guns blazing. He didn't hold back - talking about people sleeping with Sabat for roles, Sabat calling people gay, sex between workers and VAs and all the grabassing going on. That guy caused shockwaves that weebs will feel shaking their waifu pillows for years to come. Even if everything crashes and burns, Huber's affidavit permanently altered people's perception of this industry and how companies work by coming out and having the balls to say it is as bad as we think and here's it all in detail. That shit is worth its weight in gold. Without his affidavit, this case wouldn't have been 1/10th as interesting to follow.
Plus Monica's husband was outed as a serial abuser who threatened dogs. You can bet your ass both Monica and Ron didn't see that collateral damage coming and no matter what happens you can bet your ass Monica is humiliated as fuck that that info is now out there and all the weebs who crowd her at cons know it.
I'm not here hoping for winners and losers. I'm here to watch everyone run for their lives because some construction worker just hit a cesspool with a backhoe and now an ocean of shit is flooding across people's lawns.

I think in recent years Funi has started slipping from being the main western anime supplier with Sentai raising its quality and title output not just being only current anime, Discotek/Animeigo basically has their own little corner too. It really is a matter of just supporting Funi's competitors rather than giving up on western industry entirely. Just try and buy any Funi release second-hand. If you look for it there's a lot of anime out there besides just what Funi puts out, this is especially so if you aren't just keeping up with seasonal series or hyped up series.
I find people let this impact them way more than it should, this is the same with any of these -gate movements, you can still enjoy these things. It's one of the reasons I washed my hands entirely of KIA besides their disturbing turn into outright defending loli and throwing a tantrum every time steam took down cheap obvious lolibait games as an attack on their free speech or something.

It's also important to remember that regardless of how this case goes due to shit lawyers, shit judges, or whatever, most of these people are fired and blacklisted once it's over. Pretty much everyone involved in this radioactive shitpile has been thoroughly fucked by it reputation-wise. Toei is going to cull pretty much everyone (Vic likely included because that's how Japan typically does things) and Funimation will be lucky if it keeps its doors open once papa Sony gets the belt.

Assuming Chupp allows the case to continue on defamation+conspiracy, Huber's affidavit will be admissible with the amended petition and a whole bunch of evidence will be brought in to bolster the plaintiff. There is a whole world of salt to be mined in there, IMO.
