Half of the posts in this thread read like they're so thoroughly invested in a positive outcome for Vic, case in-point being that random bridge-hopper a few pages back. A lot of objectivity seems to be lost in the flurry of rooting for the preferred team.

It's certainly an interesting case to follow, but is getting MeToo'd by unfuckable voice-actresses really such a pressing concern that it's time to tie the noose if Vic loses?

I think most people watching this just despise the kickvic people. I personally don't care about Vic, Alec holocoaster or whatever. I just know people I don't like take pleasure from ruining these people's lives. I want to deny them pleasure, so Im supporting vic.

The lack of TI getting through is insane. I'd ask what Chupp is smoking, but I guess the reason he was an asshole was that he was out of whatever it is.

Speak for yourself, I'm just here for the lols and the controversial leaks.

Holy shit do you guys know what it's like to come home from a long day of work at the office to see 90 pages of horseshit and a bunch of people on twitter losing their minds? It's an odd experience.

Anyway, from what I've read of what in the fuck all happened I'd say I'm disappointed, about 50/50 between Ty and Chupp. Ty didn't seem to present this as well as it seemed in the previous couple weeks. That being said, I'll keep that somewhat tempered since the grand majority of the coverage was by a lawtwitter sped. Chupp's decision to chop out Marchi is not entirely unexpected, but I'm honestly shocked that he threw out TI so early. From what I heard it sounds like Chupp wasn't treating this like a proper TCPA hearing where it's not expected that all evidence (on either side) is present.

I'm disappointed less by the decisions themselves (especially since they can be appealed and all that) and more that my impressions of Ty and Chupp were both somewhat betrayed.

I'm not a lawyer but I watch Judge Judy. If you make an assertion, have the evidence in hand...even if the statement alone should do.

I realize the poll is in jest, but this whole suit has reinforced in my mind how much trash twitter is:
  • Without twitter, hanleia may have been stuck on Tumblr and ff.net ranting to the other fujoshi in their hugbox instead of getting notice
  • Without twitter, armzgurl would have had to make hash browns instead of a #hashtag
  • Without twitter, Funi just would have let Vic go because Sabat said so, instead of assily trying to justify it
  • Without twitter, Marchi and Rial would just have smirked with their friends about how superior they are to Vicman instead of braying and acting brave
  • Without twitter, Ron would not have had a vehicle to make 350 questionable messages about Vic
  • Without twitter, Ty probably wouldn't have had his notary stamp questioned
But I know, hate the player, not the game. Twitter is still garbage.

Been following the Weeb Wars for a long time. Today's result made me make an account to say a few things.

1. I don't see a world where Chupp doesn't strike down what's left. The fact that he did as much damage as he did from the bench seals the fate of everything else. He's probably just crossing his Xs and Ts to make this a bitch to appeal. I wouldn't bet much on things getting past appeal either.

2. I thought Vic adding another lawyer to the team last minute was a red flag. I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped the Beard, cut off contact with Nick, and pursued appeals with a new team. Dude must have bank to do that.. Hope the GFM helps.

2. It was never wise to cash all of the chips on this case. People need to realize that social change happens at a snail's pace. I think the people who sperged out of frustration did so because they bet on this lawsuit being a turning point the ongoing "culture war". Chill out. It's not the end of the world.

3. Regardless of outcome, i'm convinced that Rial, Toye, Funimation and Co are a band of shitheads. Full stop.

4. The court of public opinion matters, and I've found the push-back towards cancel culture to be encouraging. It's also clear that Vic has many people in his corner, so I hope he can recover after all this and move on.

5. Rekieta will probably find other cases to focus on moving forward. He'll be the lawyer man for the wider "culture war". The fact that he's gotten the leaks is pretty encouraging and will keep me hooked on following him.

I'll probably contribute to this and join other parts of the site laughing at people. For those that are upset, chill out.

Turns out Sam Johnson was able to circumvent her shenanigans with a solid works. Cheers for him, since he's the only "winner" from today
Not true.

The Real winners are the ones who mock the retarded people who spergasming all over the first 70 or so pages of this thread.

Twitter was a bigger mistake than Discord.

I mean, all in all, he's the only one who's getting paid. So, while lols are worth it, he walks out with his pockets filled
A jobs a Job, Good for him for not acting like a internet baffoon, but let's be honest He found he was in a strange game.

And the only winning move was not to play (stupid games like the other lawyers).

I think the kickvic people are full of shit but like a good kiwifarmer I like salt above all, and this should have plenty.

Beard and firm's performance on this case over the past week has been embarrassing. They can't make a deadline despite having weeks of time (don't give me that "we always file at the last minute" bullshit when you get computer problems), they fuck up all sorts of technical matters, gets in email slapfights with opposing counsel like kids in the back of mom's minivan... all this while he's spending hours ranting on a youtube show about how stupid the people are who are saying that something like this would happen.

Good entertainment, yes, but it sounds like he read the room wrong and got the judge pissed.

So this was an unexpected L. We got overly invested in justice for Vic but it seems it will be a harder battle then anticipated. Hopefully the people will still donate to the gofundme (pressing x on that) and the appeal works in Vic's favor.
