- Marchi and Rial basically saying divisive comments about the anime community (Real Anime Fans believe us BS)
- KV and ISWV going back and forth for months and now with this TCPA thing and KV gloating
- The #Funileaks on it's own made like 4th in trending on twitter and made some small news in Japan

You add all that up and even if Vic case gets completely thrown out before say Oct this year it wont matter. Sometime around July 24 when whatever the hashtag is for the Olympics starts trending, one of the ISWV speds will get the idea to use it reintroduce the funileaks to let the whole world hear them this time, or Nick may even revisit it on a July stream. The fact Goku is on Olympic merchandise alone could really hurt Funimation if those Funileaks get attached to the Olympic Hashtag. But that is probably an autistic theory based on how ISWV/KV act.

I'll agree here. It's strange to think that Chupp isn't biased, because he didn't give Lemoine his glory moment.
Or because he objected to the defense lawyers at least somewhere.

If Chupp were to play along with the defense attorneys even more, if he nodded at each of their arguments and eventually closed all the charges right there in the courtroom. It wouldn't be "biased" anymore. It would become "lose even a grain of shame".

My eyebrows have been sufficiently raised by the discovery of past cases Chupp screwed up so badly that it warranted 'extraordinary appeals remedies'. Bad reviews are worth noting, but a history of something like that make me wonder.

I don't think about any particular kind of bias. It`s just bias. I'm not saying he liked Monica Real's eyes, so he decided to make those decisions. It could be anything. The point is, he made the decisions before he walked into the courtroom. Instead of being a guard of the law, being a blind statue with scales in his hands, he decided to bend the law in some predetermined direction. No one says that he also wanted to win Lemoine's heart, find out what he loves and offer him exactly that.

It just so happens that in this particular case, the decisions he made are largely in accordance with the interests of the defendants.

You had Ron directly threaten Kamehacon to withdraw funding if Vic showed up. Monica bailed on her commitment to attend and got some of the AIDS Ginyu Force to follow her to a competing event. I believe Marchi was caught telling people on Discord to start spamming conventions. Those are very clear attempts to derail someone's livelihood.

I feel bad for Chuck Huber. Unless people eventually come out to end Casting Couch Chris's career, Chuck's time at Funimation is over. I'm not sure the other studios in Texas will want to work with him either.

Look at it this way...

We've seen no evidence from the opposing side and we've witnessed firsthand how they act. Chupp himself seemed very apathetic about the whole case from the start and even if he decides to drop the remaining charges, they can and will most likely be appealed. Vic's war chest is continuously being replenished and it's evident he has more supporters than Kickvic does. It may take some time but it would be foolish to assume this whole fiasco is over with just this loss.

If anything, the weeb wars have dealt plenty enough damage to Vic's accusers and it seems unlikely to stop. Marchie might have walked away but she'll still be known as the woman who "wanted his head and balls" or was hoping some minor would get raped to give them credence. Monica's made a complete and utter jackass of herself and Soye can never unprivatize his tweets because he was outted as a domestic abuser. Not only that but Funimation as a whole has been exposed as a corrupt cesspit that plays host to a newborn Harvey Weinstein.

I think it's safe to say that the judge's remark on that was a joke. Not a very funny joke for the plaintiff considering the circumstances, but a joke nonetheless.

But if it's a joke, does that mean he is or isn't LPPF? I assume that's something we'll find out by the time Chupp decides on the defamation, but it sucks that he decided to joke around and not bother to even answer which it was. He cut off the debate on whether or not Vic was one, so neither side was even able to present their argument about it.
