Yes, several countries, like the US, have cyberbully laws on the books due to a lot of teens committing suicide in the past decade due to social media. Cyberbullying can be a federal and a state crime on top of it being a crime in a foreign country if the recipient is a foreign citizen.

It all depends upon when the law was passed determines if cyberbullying can be prosecuted. Since the tweet from Chelsea about the alleged abuse happened in 2019 then she can be prosecuted for it. I'm just answering the questions and presenting the facts of the matter. I have no opinion regarding the entire thing.

Also, she hasn't committed any crime related to Alec unless she had messages and messages organising to intentionally get him to suicide, even then, it'd have to be so organised and provable, it's not the same as that other case with the Danish guy. It's not even remotely similar.

That's not actually true. In Canada, it is quite possible that she committed a crime and their is a legal precedent for this. The Amanda Todd case from a few years ago. Basically a guy in Denmark started an online harassment campaign against her, and she wound up killing herself over it. The guy was extradited from Denmark to Canada to face charges for this, and was eventually sentenced to 11 years in jail.

Her victim was a white male, and Canada hates white males. There isn't a prosecutor who would be willing to charge her with anything. By the way, the family has no control over whether she gets charged or not. It's completely up to the prosecutor, who can file charges with or without the family's consent. But Canada, as a country, is completely fucked and the legal system is rife with double standards. Zoe will get away with this -- because she's a woman, but if the genders were reversed in this case, the perpetrator would 100% be charged and extradited.

The example you gave has nothing to do with the Zoe Quinn situation. That guy convinced an underage girl to send him pictures of her tits and then tried to extort more nudes out of her while threatening to release the nudes he had online if she didn't comply. He not only produced and distributed child pornography, but explicitly said he would ruin her socially if she didn't send him more child porn and he contacted her over and over and over again telling her this. That's where the criminal harassment comes in. One accusatory tweet in which Quinn said she didn't want Holowka to be harassed (however disingenuous her saying that was) is not the same thing as repeatedly contacting a fifteen year old to try and extort her into sending you illegal naked pictures.

I don't know how you don't see that these two cases have vastly different fact patterns. This case has nothing in common with the Alec Holowka accusation other than the fact that someone eventually committed suicide.

Yes, Alec killed himself. Zoe didn’t pull the trigger, she just handed him a loaded gun and said “you know what to do”.

She killed him in the sense that her absurd abuse allegations caused an instant chain reaction where all his “friends” and acquaintances immediately excommunicated him from the indie scene shutting and kicking him out of his industry where he was quite good (he actually contributed in making games unlike Zoe).
