Project Cassandra was tasked with taking down Hezbollah and truncating their ability to traffic cocaine into the U.S., but Obama's administration cut them down purely because he wanted to strike a deal with Iran. I understand that it's a very, very long article but it's worth reading every word of it and I'm still astounded that nobody ever brings it up, and that it was published in Politico of all places.

It really is a genuine shame that the story's so often ignored. It's a fantastic piece of journalism that lets you see what the profession should be like, if it was filled with people who actually cared instead of people who just wanted to play political tribalism.
