Sorry if this was posted already (I didn't look through all 166 pages) but what is the story behind this picture:

Look at how well-dressed those Korean guys are for church, while Chris looks like a circus tent. Of course, it got far worse when he wore his Sonichu medallion and shirt of fail under his graduation gown.

Has it been confirmed that Barb dressed Chris in brightly coloured shirts to let people know he was "special"? It could just be Chris' fashion sense, but he's been wearing them since he was very young, before he would have a say in the type of clothes he wore.

Here's what baffles me: These clothes, these horrible eyesores of brightly colored 'no rhyme or reason discernable' clothes...? They are mass produced.
I don't know if it's Chris natural radiant goofiness that transcends whatever he's wearing making perfectly normal (albeit brightly colored) clothes look silly or if Borb shopped around for the most ill-fitting color combinations available to mankind.

When you look at his creations, be it art, Lego, CRAYOLA MODEL FUCKING MAGIC or that 'stare into your soul' totem, Chris always applies liberal amounts of color, oftentimes mismatching them in huge contrasts, so I guess it's his style to like such clothes... but that Korea-Church image just makes me wonder: Could anyone ever wear these clothes and not look like a fucking idiot?

Well. classic Chris' wardrobe anyway. Nowadays he seems to dress like some sort of crazy baglady. which I suppose he is. He even appeared in court in drag so I'm guessing the clown shirts are a thing of the past. Kind of sad because I miss classic Chris. I wonder if he stopped wearing them in part because of the trolling. Both Chris and his trolls seem to view those obnoxiously colored shirts as part of his identity. especially the red-white-and-blue "classic" striped shirt. I wonder if he thought changing his wardrobe might make people stop making fun of him on some level. Then again his new look is much worse and I can't imagine people haven't hurled slurs at him.

Anyway. I've never been able to tell whether Chris' former wardrobe was a result of his parents being... just so old and out of touch with youth fashions. or if Chris just generally had shitty tastes in clothing. It does seem to be a trend with special ed kids though. It may even be a combination of both. I could see Chris and other autistic kids being drawn to brightly colored contrasting designs. It kind of fits with the cartoons that Chris so eagerly devoured as a child. That being said. I'm amazed he didn't go with more character t-shirts. I suspect Chris' parents played a role in picking out his wardrobe ell into his high school years if not beyond. It's especially bad because Barb is a hoarder who raids Good Will which means she'd likely buy anything if it said it as "on sale." Indeed that seems to be Chris' general approach to dressing himself these days. :(

The real pity is that Chris' choice of clothing makes him look worse. especially back when he was in high school. Just jeans and a shirt would have made him look much more normal. Sure he as always going to be socially awkward. but if he dressed in more age appropriate styles at least he'd fit in a little better. He doesn't need to be up on current trends or spend hundreds of dollars on designer clothing; just dressing like a normal. non-descript person would have helped him out immensely back then. Still would in fact. No woman is going to want to hook up with a smelly tranny. or a 30 year old man dressed like a special ed kid.

I agree. The clothes are horrible but your idea that Chris likes the (or used to like them) because of the bright colours may indeed hold some merit. As appalling as Chris' fashion choices are. that seems to be a trend with a lot of special ed kids. I can't help but wonder if something with those bright contrasting colours might capture their attention. I'd still much rather have classic Chris running around in his clown shirts than the whole tomgirl fiasco we've got going on now though. I suppose next time he looses his wardrobe maybe we'll get a new look again. but I doubt it will be anything approaching normal.

Now the thought of Chris wearing one of those Lacoste shirts comes to my mind, I remember when that was a thing everybody wore when I was 5!

That or one of those 'No Fear' shirts or a shirt with Fido Dido on it.

I would imagine Chris wearing stuff that was popular in Britain in the 90's, but I don't think he could get a size big enough in order to get the baggy effect.

I use to wear Rude Dog shirts in junior high! Remember when that was a thing.

haha!

This is my favourite CWC Pic because Chris is 22 here. The glasses-with-string suggest old-age pensioner, the Sonichu medallion suggests small child, but the hairy arms are there to make it clear that this is a grown adult male, faking a smile because his Lego set isn't authentic.

That or he's saying ''sup.' like a teenager.

The rugby shirts like the classic? I think so. They don''t strike me as that weird. I am looking at the picture with the gifts immediately above this message. If it weren't for the blue shirt underneath it (and of course the medallion and glasses) Chris wouldn't stand out to me as dressed oddly. It's the blue shirt that ruins it.

As for the church picture. His clothing looks really 80's to me. If it were taken 10-15 years earlier it would be fairly normal. I would guess the clothes come from a bygone era.

So yes the clothes were mass produced. Chris stands out by wearing fashions that are out of style by a mile or by mixing and matching in ridiculous ways.

This is a picture of Chris and Barb snuggling in bed together. If you'd like to see a better resolution image, help me find a download of Chris's DVD slideshow photos. This image and other winners are not on the CWCki.

I know I'm a bit late- but this is the first time I've seen this... Do they do this on a regular basis? Is there an incestuous affair???

That's a interesting theory, I have seen a few people with special needs that are either dressed too old or too young for there age Chris is some weird combo of the two.

One thing that strikes me though is the glasses, is the string thing all that common? Apart from a few lure fishermen I know who are right in the surf who get knocked over a lot and don't want a session to cost them a new set of Oakleys every time out I haven't seen them "in the wild" or is this more common in the US than the UK? Or is it a generational thing, seeing as Chris must have picked up the habit from his folks who are much older than other parents are so it just stands out more on him.

Been trying to figure out the clothes as well, I think it was just stuff his mother bought. As for the glasses I guess we could safely say Chris isn't the only person who wore glasses with the string attachment

As @Marvin said No, atleast in the way you mean it.
Chris is Barbs emotional Crutch an Helper Monkey there is noting Sexual (I genuinely shuddered as I typed that) between them as much as some would like to believe. The worst thing that is going on is emotional incest and even then I don't think that fit's I think it was Chris either inappropriately using the term, or Barb is being over zealous in her coddling of Chris.

I think we struggle with the right term for it.

Is it weird or unhealthy if an adult son helps his elderly widowed mother with errands and stuff around the house? No.

Is it weird or unhealthy for a mother to support her son in various ways, particularly if her son has a mental disorder? No.

Is Chris' relationship with Barb weird and unhealthy? Yes.

So there is something more to it. For lack of a better term, we use the word incest, although there is nothing sexual involved. I think it boils down to
a) they are both lonely people who don't really have anyone else.
b) the fact that they both have diminished capabilities, for various reasons.
c) they both seem to think the other one desperately needs them.
