Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Broken Staircase is google excel sheet of questionable people that included Vic who are known for casuing 'trouble' at cons,
with a lot of it possibly being BS, or overblown. (hence the name, broken staircase, something you don't fix but just remember to work around.)
Staircase 2.0 (probably not the best term, more like a boycott list) is a lost of conventions/companies that are hosting Vic, and some of kickvic wants to be called out for daring to do that. I think there is a link to that in Jennifer Lynn's thread in the last 2-3 pages.

The plot twist is that Jennifer Lynn is the broken staircase. The whole thing is just her laying down in the hallway, making people step over or on her. She screams insults at the people who step on her, and tries to convince the people who step over her that the ones who stepped on her actually raped her. Someone should just go and fix the problem by removing her, but no one wants the trouble of dealing with her, and most people are afraid of catching something.

Not sure why they wanted Vic to sign that as Vic was not part of the cast of Sonic Heroes, but it's their money.

This one is horrifying:

Hola folks. Just left RocCon and have some pics for ya. But first I'll tell you what I saw. When it first opened there was a large glob of people in front of his table that tapered off toward the other end where poor Joey Fatone was. As the day went on Vic's line remained steady and by the time his 2:30 panel came up it was much bigger and comparing it to the other dude's (Fatone, Michael Dorn, Walter Jones) almost made me feel sorry for them.

The panel was in a nearly literal dungeon and lighting was pretty low but it was still cool despite a couple mic hogs like this guy in a dress doing voices for animations his friend did and the gradually increasing noise from inconsiderate fucks talking in the back.

Vic talked a lot about how for years people got to tell him how much he did for them and got them through hard times and now he gets to thank them. Feels, y'all. My wife kept teasing that I was crying.

Talked about how fucked our society has become with social media and the desire for others to destroy people because they're so sad. Of course you know I'm thinking of PULL, Soye, Doucette, etc. He even mentioned people having time to tweet a hundred times a day about other people and of course I thought of our favorite cockhead T. Greg.

He also made plenty of jokes about people cutting up what he said and editing it to say bad shit and I imagined doing it to some of the things he said and had a laugh.

The man was just full of gratitude and love and that's what he wanted to get across - that anything he's ever done was done with the best intentions.

After that we went upstairs for a green screen pic and my wife, baby daughter and I finally met him. The dude was absolutely genuine, cradling my daughter's head in his hand in amazement of her. It was just beautiful, man. The feels.

We then had a bro moment when I gave him a lighter I designed for him (shitty quality pic included) and one of his favorite cigars (Kuba Kuba by Acid. They're delicious. Taste like candy just like Rekieta told me they did). It was simply a pleasure to meet the man and give him support.

He looked amazing, really. My wife calls him my man crush. I mean I was feeling a little gay but not really. But for real the dude had more energy than anyone there and I don't believe he's 57. Must be 40 at most.

His merchandisers also had these bracelets made and were either selling them or giving them away but I wasn't planning on taking one because I don't subscribe to the hashtag stuff and didn't think that should be brought up there. However I found one on the floor so I took it and put it on. It's pretty funny.

I fucking love that guy. Genuine Italiano. @Svetlana you've got an awesome friend and I wish him the best and can't wait to see him again. He must be kept alive and well to continue spreading his positivity to people. Can't let people like Marchi, Ron, and Monica and their pathetic ilk divide and hurt people out of spite.

The positive message he sends to young people in dire straits is too fucking important for some malicious, empty people to destroy. You have to take a fucking stand, man. Not just for him but also for the people standing on the edge who just need one fucking person to give them an encouraging word. I understand much better now why he matters so much to others and why they matter to him. Can't let jealous people who wouldn't give a shit if a sad, dorky anime loving kid hurt themselves destroy that.

None of lawtwitter, or Funi, or consluts, or fat attention-seeking whores with blue hair understands that. They just do not. It is beyond them. It's a joke to them.

Well, they're just fucking wrong, man.

Oh yes his mother was there! He introduced her at the panel. I wanted to go say hello to her but forgot to. Shit! Oh well. There's next year.

Any other questions please ask me. And if I did some powerleveling, I'm sorry. It was great to meet him but it isn't about me. The stakes are far greater than personal interests, that's clear. That's just a fact of life. I feel it very strongly and I feel it for these kids or young adults who need him far more than my grown ass.

No matter what happens in this lawsuit I guarantee Vic wins life in the end. Sounds corny but I'm fucking serious. He's younger and stronger in spirit than any of the slags out there trying to kill him. Goddamn guarantee it.

(But seriously if I powerleveled just let me know and I'll edit. I won't be sharing our picture with him. Not here, at least.)

Oh and by the way when we left at 4:00 he seemed to pretty much have the only line left there. I mean it was impressive even for a smaller venue than your typical con. Fucking great, man.

I thought it was the list of people for leftists to #MeToo into oblivion.

Vic is either overwhelmed by those two people glomping him at once or it was late in the day. He has a sort of harried/disconnected expression there. It's different from his usual photo poses.

Thats the hollywood broken staircase file..this is the anime convention broken staircase...I think?
Yeah, we’re talking about that one. Vic was on the list, and the idea is that after Vic is forced to fuck off, they’ll move to the next one until the industry is pure and clean. Obviously, the plan’s hit a snag.

"Incite a conversation"? Your whole movement is centered on ostracizing a man based on allegations and rumors instead of facts and ensuring his life is a living hell. That's not a conversation, that's a lynch mob!

Marxists use doublespeak. Your speech is violence, their violence is speech.

A conversation means them lecturing you on your evils and you agreeing to do what they command. It means declaring someone an unperson and they going away. It means cancel culture and don't you dare talk back, what do you think this is, a conversation debate?

could someone kindly provide me with the quick Lore on this?

I'm not sure where Manjaw's convention list is in her thread (I'm sure @Nontransferable could fish it out), but here is the dreaded Broken Staircase document (which I'm sure @mindlessobserver has a link and an archive of it in the OP):
This sucker was discovered when Anime News Network contributor Hazukari aka Dylan Keilman was busted.
As you may note, Vic Mignogna and Todd Haberkorn are on the list as well as Neil Kaplan, a KickVic VA.
Also on there is Chris Niosi aka Kirbopher, who recently got into trouble.
Some of the people on the probably don't belong on there, while offenders like Momokun probably deserve it.
ANN founder Justin Sevakis was on there once, but ANN convinced the owner to remove him.
There were 35 names on the list at the beginning of the year, now there are 76.

If Jennifer can be convinced to punch her own ticket, her mandible can be used to dig her grave. Convenient.

There are probably some legit 'creeps' on there. Just by the odds of it. If there are none, then they are working together and running it which may not be that big of a stretch.

The hashtag singles out an individual and demands action against said individual. KickVic is not a discussion opener, it's a demand. Say what you will about metoo but at least its choice in wording was broad so it could applied to a variety of similar circumstances. For people who get paid to talk they have a rather banal understanding of linguistics.

She's change her tune if the hashtag of the day was #SueMonica

I swear, is there some sort of Irrelevant Female VA League that I haven’t heard about? Seriously, from Sarah Wiedenheft, to Leah Clark, to Terri Dotty, and now this stupid bitch all jumped into the KickVic fray of exceptionalism while contributing to being hilariously incorrect with a hint of irony (Wiedenheft), being an ass remora of Monica’s (Dotty), believing that Funimation isn’t held responsible for the Sacred Ointment Couch which extends towards the VAS if they knew it existed (Clark), and now this shit.

Gray Haddock is gone from Rooster Teeth. Supposedly the 13% layoffs 2 days ago were in fact a second round of layoffs, 1 previously happening without any publicity.

This came from a supposed insider. If Rooster Teeth ever gets involved with the Vic lawsuit, they are going to leak like a sieve.

Edit: Koen Wooten is supposedly gone also.

The same Koen Wooten that told Vic "we know these allegations are false."

Hmm...
