It is hilarious how many of those advocating for gun control also advocate for open borders.

I've yet to hear a solid plan on how exactly they're going to keep cartels from just bringing guns back into the country through that porous border...
Something something island nations like UK, Japan, and Australia don't have gun smuggling problems.

"Compromise" in modern ideological politics has always meant "my side gets what it wants, and your side angrily sits in silence while my side laughs in your face". It's zero sum game shit that breeds civil wars, but all is justified if it happens in the name of "progress".

We could move closer to an idealized responsible gun owner and regulated gun ownership, but instead the ONLY way "forward" on the issue is criminalizing gun ownership and having an unregulated black market where an automatic is as easy to get as a semiautomatic. Think the Drug War was bad? Wait till the war on guns.
It's especially amusing since these people never take into account what kind of people they would be dealing with in a gun grab campaign. They conflate squeaky voiced ultra-omegas with fudds and klebolds while completely misunderstanding what happens when you deal with those really sharp eyed motherfucker like McVeigh or the Vegas shooter. It's astounding how utterly out of depth they are from how monumentally dangerous these people would be even without guns, let alone in a straight up fight for them. If the trade really

Hello, not dead.

I just wanted to make a quick opine on the California trip. First, I think it’s brilliant. The state is probably 40% solid blood red, but the screeching spastics in the coastal cities tend to drown out any other voices.

Other conservatives would look over California merely because of the electoral college. Sure, you haven’t a prayer of winning there due to corruption with voting in the cities. But think of how many general election votes you can harvest there. Or private donations from not just rural areas, but the affluent blue areas as well, from closet moderates and closet right wingers, probably scared of their peers.

Not to mention it is more than fair to point out the copious failures in the populated areas of the state and say “You guys don’t want that, right? I won’t do that.”

However, the way they are covering this simple trip to a US state.....it reminds me of the way they would cover Trump’s trip to England or his trip to Asia.

California is not a foreign country yet, is it?

I'm currently getting my exposure to CNN like most Americans, unwillingly in a public venue that has it on.

It's fucking pathetic. There is apparently a currently nonstory that they're is a whistleblower who might have said something about Trump, and Anderson "Likes it in the pooper" Cooper and his commenters are just having live wet dreams on the screen. Just going into fucking fantasyland on what it could be about, sexual assault, Russiagate, etc. Already reaching the conclusion that the entire Republican Party will be punished when a Democratic President eventually happens (even they couldn't say when it happens next year).

Because a President has never survived a whistleblower, scandal-less Obama would have been done had someone revealed something like a massive domestic spying program.

Can't wait to see what a nothing-burger this is.

No, you don't understand.

This is it. This will be the one. The end-all-be-all. SURELY THIS WILL BE THE END OF DRUMPF'S TERRIBLE REIGN.

They are trying to argue that it's hypocritical for Trump to raise 15 million dollars from California while criticizing the state. I'm guessing they are just ass blasted that he's raising more money in "their"state, than there candidates can manage nationwide.

Well the other thing you didn't mention is that progressives simply cannot be trusted to keep up their end of any bargain. Their ideology by definition forbids it.

I've been quietly expecting another Oklahoma City-level event, something aimed at the government and it's "nazi concentration camps," by someone who isn't a blithering idiot like that dude who suicided the ICE center, or the van guy who mailed the "pipebombs" to democrats. We've been so god-damn lucky that we've largely had to deal with dumb or lazy maniacs in the last couple decades.

Lucky? Perhaps. And I don't doubt that eventually one will slip through, it's just the way of things.

But you may underestimate the power of the surveillance state in the US. A decade ago the NSA was siphoning off cell phone and computer traffic from everyone. A decade ago.

Nonsense. If progressives don't keep their word on comprimises then explain to me why Ted Kennedy's illegal immigration amnesty led to an overhaul of immigration law.
No wait I meant Obama's no wait Bush's...

I don't know why the repubs treat the dems any differently than Iran. They spend their time chanting that they want you dead. They should be treated with the same contempt and disdain. They got caught lying and cheating in every conceivable way, and they have no shame about it.

We need a new party so we can give it republicans their well deserved 'fuck you too', but it seems insane at this point to work with the left.

My opinion on the modern surveillance state is very bipolar. One day it's "these motherfuckers can't keep track of their own digital forensics tools (vault 7) and got Classified Documents stolen by a juggalo (reality winner)," and then the next day it's "these motherfuckers have government contracts with every GPS service on the planet and could drone strike me while masturbating." It's a rough mental state.

They're not very smart, and they're not very dumb. It's SCALE of having millions of people working for them.

There aren't any of those people on the progressive side, these are the people who screech about how they "can't adult" today......

The NSA is functionally worthless if you aren't already on a terror watchlist. They ironically enough collect so much data on everything and everyone that they can't sift through it and stop any crime unless some other agency already flagged your ass.

I'm one of those California right wingers and I was stoked at his California trip, and especially with his talk of a Federal intervention in the homeless crisis here. It's amazing to see on my local Reddit city page (Los Angeles) the mental gymnastics the local lefties are doing in becoming small state libertarians overnight just on that alone!

I'm of the school of thought that if we don't fix things on the West Coast left wing degeneracy is just going to spill out even faster to the rest of the country. If people in red states hate California transplants enough already as it is imagine how much they'd love it if things accelerate up in a few years after widespread collapse in places like California and Oregon.

More so than that, remember the compact those states have made? That their electoral votes will go to the candidate who gets the majority of the popular vote?

This is how you get the popular vote: When your opponents treat voters like empty filler, you treat voters like they count.

Well, all you have to do to balance out your mood swings is complete the connection. A juggalo stole classified documents and now could drone strike you while masturbating--you or him.

Did that help?

How much you want to bet that in that scenario the likes of California and New York will try to find any any excuse to weasel out of their precious compact?
My money is on the them "remembering" that until the compact has 270 votes locked in it's not legally binding.
Or maybe they'll just go full fuck you Drumpf and the record for the most faithless electors in an election will get smashed by a 150 votes or so.
