1. She was recently subjected to the ultimate dick move in the industry (having legal ownership of her masters sold out from under her without consent or permission) with the added salt to the wounds being that they were sold to someone Taylor hate with a fucking passion (a Kanye West crony). So she may have submitted to the anti-life equation in hopes of ONE day, ONE DAY, getting her masters sold back to her at a price that doesn't begger her.
2. Her so-called "alt right" album Reputation, didn't top the record sales of 1989; which was her commercial zenith and from which all of her future albums (saleswise) will be judged by in terms of her label using that standard to punitively punish Swift by taking away label support if her later albums don't top said sales of 1989. So following that up with an all SJW album, complete with pro-gay video AND video with her having a black male love interest as part of the pandering to appease her label.
3. She wants to get into Hollywood/acting or into the lucrative film score production scene, where you have people like Trent Reznor have found second life as an artist and even greater acclaim (IIRC Reznor even has a freaking Oscar). Which means, again, submitting to the anti-life equation.

A good chunk of the DNC elites and their corporate backers invested HUGE into Beto for his Senate run; so much money and energy was invested and they got nothing in return due to Beto losing, that rather than cut their losses, they are doubling down because they don't want to admit that they backed a dud. Also, as I mentioned, they probably figure at the very least, they can finagle him the VP slot to try and rebuild his brand, especially since his anti-gun remarks have basically rendered him unelectable in Texas going forward.

So I was talking to someone (Who was excusing Antifa's violence but got mad when the Proud Boys committed acts of violence) about this thing called Horseshoe Theory, which basically is the theory that people on the opposite ends of the spectrum tend to believe in the same things, just with their own spin on them, hence this image, and the idiot responded with

"I think that white supremacists should have the same right to the debate floor as anyone else. I believe that if they engage in civil, peaceful discourse then they could be of as much value to a debate as any other person"

I can think of a number of reasons, but they all boil down to him being a "useful idiot" to the Dems* until his big time Howard Dean 2.0 "Hell yes we're gonna take yer guns!" moment just made him the regular kind of idiot, more famous for a gaffe than content.
* Possible reasons
1. - he had a lot of leftover cash from his loss to the Zodiac Killer in Texas, and since he wouldn't share it/fold it into the DNC coffers, he could at least be baited into using it to spout D talking points constantly by promising him a seat at the big boy debate table despite the fact his polling was so bad that negative support was within the margin of error for him.
2. - The dems still believe in a Blue Texas in the next 10 years at the most, and are trying to keep him circulating as the heir apparent to that promised kingship.
3. - These days, youngish Dems who aren't also socialist weebs who believe in free everything are hard to find, so they supported him as the least socialist option when every single seasoned Dem is fairly socialist, with the Freshmen behind them being Junior Communists. Beto may be a spazz, but at least he's not a spazz promoting a plan like the GND that would cost more than the GNP of the nation to implement.

Also given how aged and decrepit a lot of the powerbrokers in the dems are, I get the vibe that some of it is due to them having memberberries about JFK and his lionization as this big force for the New Left. I legit that at least some of it is due to senility and nostalgia for the time a Mick in an Empty suit tried and managed to succeed in schmoozing his way into office. The difference was Jack actually had charisma and could show balls to a degree, while Robert O'Rourke is a sweaty and nervous Paddy larping as a Mexican who out boomers boomers in cringey meme shit.
