I like Peterson, but why not pick a better drug?
Like something that would make you truly... euphoric, perhaps?

His book is about being an instrument for good for others to the maximum extent that it is possible for you, that perspective makes it very easy to justify taking a chill pill (esp when you're neurotic as hell to begin with like he is). He probably thought he could use self control to not get hooked. Why the hell did he sign on to that prescription in the first place?
Isn't he a Psychologist? Did he really not know how horrible physical dependence on benzos is?
I mean, hope he gets better, but seriously there's no excuse and his provider should probably be in jail.
Do you think they're gonna make him clean his room?
Did you miss the whole Oxcontin thing? They said that shit was safe.I meant that if it were a serious drug, nobody would tell you to take it as needed.
It's the perfect drug for someone facing the anxiety of having their reputation constantly assaulted the way Peterson's has been. It numbs all the right sensibilities.I like Peterson, but why not pick a better drug?
There are still legitimate uses for many of them (even Klonopin/clonazepam). The problem is prescribing a daily maintenance dose, say for general anxiety (which gets people hooked), as opposed to either VERY short-term therapy or as needed (like to prevent/treat an imminent seizure or nix a current panic attack). The thing about that is that they've known about the problems with daily use for a looooooong time. Which means Peterson (psychologist) and his doctor both should have known not to do this.Did you miss the whole Oxcontin thing? They said that shit was safe.
When Xanax first came out its producers lied out their ass about its ramifications. Real talk, the people who marketed Xanax told the FDA that it cures anxiety disorders. Read the Ashton manual. These drugs were introduced to the market under a cloud of falsehoods.

Absolutely, but the practice is so widespread that psychiatry in general would grind to a halt if it were to ever be addressed directly. It's like this corruption that's just fucking everywhere. The majority of people think this shit is harmless and its cultural footprint does nothing to dissuade that. That footprint was designed.Peterson (psychologist) and his doctor both should have known not to do this.
Man, having someone you love being diagnosed with terminal cancer is about the top 10 worst things that could happen to anyone.Did you miss the whole Oxcontin thing? They said that shit was safe.

I'm not sure how else to say this, but Benzos can induce the sort of social fluidity we might otherwise associate with one or two drinks on a full stomach. The liberation from self-obsessed fear and a concordant bravado. It's very easy for someone on that sort of a stage to become reliant on that kind of lubrication. Benzos are big in showbiz.Man, having someone you love being diagnosed with terminal cancer is about the top 10 worst things that could happen to anyone.
Not that having your reputation challenged daily is any fun, but what I'm saying is that I don't really blame the guy.
As much as I dislike Peterson, there's only one solution for these big pharma poisoners.Did you miss the whole Oxcontin thing? They said that shit was safe.

You know I've smoked a lot of grass
O'Lord, I've popped a lot of pills
But I never touched nothin'
That my spirit could kill
You know, I've seen a lot of people walkin' 'round
With tombstones in their eyes
But the pusher don't care
Ah, if you live or if you die
God damn, the pusher
God damn, I say the pusher
I said God damn, God damn the pusher man...
Well, now if I were the president of this land
You know, I'd declare total war on the pusher man
I'd cut him if he stands, and I'd shoot him if he'd run...
I hate to break this to you, but addiction and vice like this one are the unavoidable byproduct of the chemical glue holding together more people at every level of society than you might expect. SO MANY people are on shit, it keeps the machine running. Like how you maybe took a bunch of adderall to cope with exams. Or maybe someone else drinks to get thru the pain of swinging a hammer all day. That sort of shit happens, a lot.As much as I dislike Peterson, there's only one solution for these big pharma poisoners.
