Just got a thought running through my head, people already mentioned how this mediation may partially be used to gauge the rationality and good faith of the parties... Can the Defendants actually present a deal that won't make them look like complete Douccetes that they would actually take?
I mean, what could they ask, "stop the lawsuit and pay our fees because you got no case, and in exchange we do absolutely nothing." That still makes them look like lunatics.
Funimation could honestly make a decent deal, claiming the others made knowingly false statements and claiming authority where there was none. In exchange of making a small monetary arrangement with Vic.
But the others can't make even an attempt at a reasonable deal without losing their entire narrative. Or can they? Is there any possible settlement they could present that doesn't fuck over their narrative one way or another?
I don't think there is a deal to be made. There are no good endings at this point. Just the one that does the least damage.
