Make of this clip what you will.
I personally believe he does not have financial issues, but his issue is not having the disposable income he believes he is entitled to.
Yup, this is the exact same vibe I got from his Minecraft stream last night.
Don't quote me on that, but I feel like he re-phrased the statement you included in the clip during his gameplay-session, and my initial reaction was: "So you're really gonna be upfront about this and tell us that you're fishing for disposable income? Damn".

It's also why I think one actual major financial event (car wreck, condo--NOT HOUSE--repair, etc) could lead to some interesting fallout.
Not only could this lead to some interesting fallgout, but it just goes to show how much of an entitled prick this old man really is. Corrupted by money - the one and only drug he ever needed in life.

i would have to agree
considering to phil, any minor annoyance or setback is A HUGE DEAL TO HIM
a company goes under, ULTIMATE BETRAYAL!
has a day where he's not happy, I HAVE DEPRESSION DOOD!
someone does something that slows down donations, DETRACTOR!

it would make sense that, to him at least, not having spending money so he can buy shit on the wrasslin game every night would equal I GOT NO MONEY DOOD!

you could give him a million dollars, and he'd spend it all in 48 hours without sleeping because he just has to buy shit

recently i've heard him let it slip that he loses chargebacks, i think this was when something got mentioned about detractors knowing how much he makes.

This is what he said about that:
People don't know how much PayPal keeps from transactions, who tries to charge stuff back and what I get when.

What he meant by that: every time someone tries to do a chargeback the transaction will be frozen/rolled back until PayPal wraps up the investigation, which takes at least a day. That's what he meant by saying 'what I get when'. It's most definitely not him saying people are winning said chargebacks, but only that he won't have instant access to the money because of the investigation period tied to the chargebacks.

With all that said, we do have indirect "proof" that he lost at least one $1 chargeback:

So DSP straight up lied when he said he's had small chargebacks succeed but he kept the money anyway.

If the information given by the PayPal employee is correct, the $1 from the OP was returned from DSP's PayPal account to the person who filed the chargeback.
But yeah, we know how DSP is when it comes to small amounts: if someone tips him $1.50 twice, he notes that as $2, so he might not even be counting $1 chargebacks as actual chargebacks.

I think Phil does not have money but I also think it is because he spends whatever he gets as soon as he can.

Look at the Blu Ray ordeal. He was broke. He sold all his Blu Rays. He got $100. He then bought more Blu Rays with the $100.

Have this.
Phil is not poor, struggling or low on money. He is low on disposable income.

Car wreck would never happen because he doesn't drive anywhere.

Condo repairs? He simply wouldn't pay I believe.

The best hope for Phil's real financial ruin is the one he shares with most Americans: health problems. The way he's going, they are going to happen and there's no way he can afford the medical bills related to a major health issue.

People keep mentioning Blurays but I'm almost certain he actually said he sold his DVDs not BDs and the distinction there is typical DSP obfuscation in the same old fashion. DVDs are worth pennies these days unless you have some rare sets that are out of print and the material hasn't seen an HD upgrade. I personally don't believe he sold all his Blurays because he only seems to be interested old movies from his childhood (he's a real adult now!) and has a fixation on physical material goods that represent his "success" so streaming the same classic khantent wouldn't suit him when tied to his nostalgia. Maybe someone knows when he said this and could confirm it.

Depends on the repairs needed. Anything exterior? Fuck it, let it fall apart.

But a busted water heater? Or furnace? Or plumbing? He won't have a choice. Kat will (rightfully, imo) pitch a bitch and he'll need to cough up to get it fixed right away. Not that that would be a problem, since he'd immediately take to Twitter to prime the pump and then the next half dozen prestreams will all be associated whining about how much he needed to pay to have it repaired. We'll also hear about how much the repair people/contractor screwed him, how much better a job he could have done himself, and how much he and his household suffered without heat or whatever for ~24 hours.

In regards to Phil's disposable income, the way Phil put it was that during his peak he had "fuck you" money where he could buy what he wanted and not have to worry. We saw him over the years blow through his money on all sorts of crap, as evidenced by his packed to the brim condo, his BMW, all the times he would brag about eating out, etc.. Things started to go south a bit in 2014 when Phil was no longer at his peak and he desperately wanted to move by the summer because he was actually running out of money. He took what he had and dumped it all into the move and the fat loan he got for the condo provided Phil with a bunch of money for him to spend on even more expensive goodies for his bigger, mature adult condo. Just watch those first condo tour videos, Phil is so happy to be showing off everything he's bought and talking about things he's going to buy in the future. Phil could keep this ludicrous spending habit up until the fan artwork copyright strikes against him, the renegotiated contract with Machinima, the adpocalypse/changing algorithms on YouTube, getting dumped by Machinima, getting dumped by Curse, the transition to full time streaming, and so on. He's had a ton of time and many opportunities to adjust his spending habit, but he simply can't give it up. Phil makes enough money to pay the bills, go out to eat when he wants and occasionally buy some piece of furniture or gadget he wants, what he doesn't have the money for is the really expensive things like multiple brand new BMWs, multiple night stays at trendy hotels 30 minutes from his house for staycations, regular vacations, new consoles and televisions on a whim, all the shit he actually wants. Phil is in financial trouble solely because of his lack of self control, his inability to plan ahead and his insatiable greed. Any normal person would be very comfortable making what he does. There's zero chance he would be streaming 6 days a week if he wasn't in the shit. At the same time, there's zero danger of him losing his condo or the power being shut off or having his heat cut off or any bullshit like that he's claimed. What Phil needs to do is cut back and develop an actual plan with a timetable for paying his debt off, but that'll never happen and he'll just beg every day until he dies of some heart disease before the age of 50.

What are you talking about, dood!? YES, FUNS! F-U-N-S! Can't you READ, dummy!? Ever since I started maturing at the age of 34, I have been known on the internet as a very INTERACTIVE and CHILL schtreemer, whose main goal is to bring FUN to people by playing games. I don't care about money! I don't care about trolls! I care about people who are looking to have a GOOD TIME. People who want to ESCAPE their problems from everyday life! So that's what I'm doing on my schtreems: I rainse FUNS. Anyway, you're now banned, so enjoy sitting outside of my chat, moping about us actually being able to see things pahsitively! What a MENTALLY ILL loser! ACK-ACK-ACK *SNORT*

Why is there sound paneling only on the wall (the last place you should put it) and in a tiny patch?

. . .also for someone who hates YT he seems proud of that play button award.

Because Pig is a lazy manchild who put minimal effort during the move to trick his tardbase into thinking he actually does give a shit and improve his videos. He did the same thing with streaming and using xplit or whatever rather than camera filming like he used to do... just with less him shitting on the audience and peacocking.

I said this exact thing at the time.

He said he sold dvds (which would have been worth more if he sold them personally, BUT NO TIME DOOD) but we know he has a lot of blu rays. 100% hes downsizing his dvds but NOT his blurays

My dad (early 60s) loves movies and collected them for his vcr, then dvd, then blu ray player as the technology progressed. He then donated the dvds to me, my siblings or other family members. BUT, he makes more way money than Dave and has no debt, so he can afford to do so. He does this because he loves movies and wants the best.

Dave just wants the best but doesnt have the income or set up for it.
