Only had $13 in tips tonight, pissed and moaned about it during the (unrecorded) State of the Stream he does after each one, and immediately gets $30. He literally has special-ed fans, doesn't he?
One of the questions that I have had while observing DSP's shameful antics is, "Why does DSP always feel the need to guilt trip his viewers?"
It's taken me until now to realize what the answer is, and the answer is quite simple and it's been staring me in the face the entire time.
The reason why Philip "Darksydephil" Burnell uses greasy emotional manipulation when he begs for money from his viewers, is
because it works.
Not only does it work, but the results are damn near instantaneous.
Tonight's (09/26/19) end of stream guilt trip is a perfect example.
"I had a good time! I don't know what happened with contributions tonight! They were, like, incredibly bad!"
"This is the slowest contributions, on a stream I've done, in probably two months! Like. No exaggeration!"
"This, kind of, disheartens me. *SHRUG* I don't know what happened! Everyone seemed to have fun, right?!"
With a hangdog expression on his face, DSP laments the low contributions that tonight's session of glumly playing Genesis games brought in.
And less than five minutes later, a weak-minded paypig sends him $30
funtimes donated $30!
yes mucho bueno
I cut out a bunch of
'Muh Schedule!' talk and a detour where DSP looks at the offscreen mod chat to see the new lame Halloween-themed emotes that Popsicolo made in the clip. I did leave in the small part where DSP is in the middle of speaking, realizes that he needs to clear his throat, and then leans into the microphone for the throat clear and the follow up lip smack.
Because, even when DSP's trying to cajole his viewers into opening their wallets, DSP still needs to show his contempt for his viewers.
The Grift Continues . . .
