Wasn't it speculated that Barb purposely dressed Chris in weird outfits to call attention to his autism?

This was suggested by a user called pureevil666 (or something like that) on a previous incarnation of the forum. She worked at Toys r Us and observed Chris firsthand during his teenage years when Barb dropped him of at the store, which she seemed to think of as a kind a babysitter, in order to play Legos with kids younger than half his age.

Did any parents ever said anything about this? I know Chris looks 'different' in his school pictures, but was it so obvious that people wouldn't be taken aback by an older teenager playing with children? I mean, maybe they'd be ok with it after they knew the situation, but I don't think I've read anything to indicate people knew about it.

Also consider that Barb shopped at goodwill for her clothes, she also probably grew up in the 60's and 70's, if she was dressing him she probably had a terrible fashion sense from those eras.

I miss "The Classic" Chris-chan years. Seeing those pics of him and Megan brought a big smile of nostalgia. The post-Liquid Chris years just got depressing as the years went on. His ragefits aren't as hilarious as "CURSE-YE-HA-ME-HA" or "GOD AND THE BEAR".

I have seen a few people with special needs that are either dressed too old or too young for their age

that's always annoyed me. Why can't they dress modern? I saw a site once that specializes in clothes for people with downs, and all the clothes were really cringey. They all looked like clothes for senior citizens.

On topic, I never noticed that chris had a ~summer~ classic and a ~winter~ classic.

that's always annoyed me. Why can't they dress modern? I saw a site once that specializes in clothes for people with downs, and all the clothes were really cringey. They all looked like clothes for senior citizens.

It's a running them isn't it, I have noticed a correlation between parents with special ed children an how well they do as a parent by how they dress there kid the more normal the better off that kid seems to be doing.

Around the corner from where I grew up there is a home for people with special needs ranging in age from 18 - 60 an when I was about 12 I was walking home an saw this one getting dropped off by her parents she was in this Disney fairy princess get up wing's an all, she rapidly got a reputation in the local area for jumping out on people booping them with a pound land magic wand, the last time I saw her was when I was 18 she was making a bid for freedom by doing a runner through the park in her full fairy get up wings an all carrying what looked like a half eaten birthday cake with her face covered in icing.

She was ironically known locally as Klinker Bell, but in this case she ran past me an was later caught by one or two of the wranglers. As far as I know she hasn't been seen after that, I think she got moved as she was getting worse banned from the local shops etc.

This is a very good idea though considering how different their bodies are shaped, and the clothes are decent too. I sometimes have trouble finding clothes and shoes because I'm very tall, skinny, and I have very big feet, but at least there exists stylish clothes in my size. People with downs didn't seem to have many options at all.

No actually, I remember reading about this girl a while ago, she was interviewed by the BBC about this and I thought it was a great idea.

The only problem with clothing I have is my wide, flat feet, even then I just size up with them (although my Adidas trainers are the most perfect fitting shoes I've ever had and they're only half a size bigger!)

Fashion's pretty closely tied to your social life. When your parents dress you as a kid, they're not interested in your social life. When you grow up, you start to take charge of your social life and distance yourself from your parents. At the same time, you start dressing yourself and developing your own style.

I think it's silly to think that Barb intentionally dressed Chris to look like a tard. It's much more likely she kept dressing him as she always did and Chris took a long time to grow out of parental control.

Heh, actually, his tomgirl stuff is his example of him finally trying to separate himself from the person Barb cultivated. Purple leggings and knockoff ugg boots are Chris growing up and finally developing his own style. Chris is in his angsty teenager phase.
