LMAO, so there is basically one thing that /r/GenderCritical and /u/Bardfinn both agree on: you must never mention Kiwi Farms on Reddit, just as you send everyone over. That's the problem: you should've been aware. You should not have to read Kiwi Farms to learn about Masstagger. Every fucking TERF and lesbo on Reddit should've been raising holy hell about this years ago when it first showed up.
When one of the /r/Masstagger mods openly suggests that Reddit Admins themselves are using Masstagger to determine who to ban next, it is your issue, to the extent that you or the subs you use have been tagged by it. Remember what I said about how personal blocklists end up becoming general blocklists. the same thing happened on Twitter. TERFs started using BlockTogether to set up their own Cult Blocker of Twitter troons, but Twitter ignored that and started using all the troons' TERF blocker lists to determine which TERFs to ban on Twitter. Put the list of TERFs that got blocked next to the list of accounts that were already on the TERF blocker lists on BlockTogether and you will almost see a direct correlation. Someone's personal blocklist became the general blocklist. Instead of protesting the very idea of such censorware, TERFs thought they'd be safe on Twitter if they just set up their own block list. In the end, you just got used.
It is the users, to the extent that users are uneducated and unaware of what's going on. When a woman (or some gamer, or some mainline conservative, or some Magic the Gathering player) comes up to you alarmed that they are tagged as a far right Natsee in Masstagger, your response to them should not be: "Look babe, we use it ourselves, it's neato software.". Your response to them should be: "Here is the name of the man behind Masstagger, Peter Pawlowski, and here is the link to the FBI IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center) to report cybercrimes.". (Or, if they are a UK TERF, send them over to their UK police.)
You need to empower all these Reddit users who are being unjustly stigmatized by Masstagger. If the FBI receives 10 reports a day mentioning a "Peter Pawlowski" and the word "Natsees" and the words "far left/Antifa hackers" and "unlawful data-mining", they are going to have to look into it, even if they don't know what "Reddit" is or what "Masstagger" does or how this is relevant to anything. LMAO, those FBI officers are probably gonna think that "Masstagger" is some group of graffiti kids spray-painting buildings, which I guess is kinda what it is, you could say they go around Reddit and spray-paint virtual swastikas onto people's backs. Also, contact Reddit themselves and let them know that you are going to the FBI because of their inaction. Reddit could stop this tomorrow by simply banning /u/morpen and /r/Masstagger but since they don't, you have no choice but to contact LE.
The fact that Peter Pawlowski doesn't even bother to list Masstagger on his personal website amongst his other software projects to me indicates that he's worried about becoming known as "that SJW hacktivist who made the censorware that tags everyone he disagrees with as a Natsee". A lot of programmers secretly hate SJWs and as #metoo has gotten worse and worse with public callouts there has been a lot of quiet resentment brewing against SJWs in programming/hacking circles. Peter Pawlowski wants to be known as the cool kid who wrote Foobar2000, not as the intolerant censorious SJW who thinks everyone on Reddit is a Natsee. That's why he tries to hide the fact that he's the author of Masstagger. (Or... he already knows he's potentially breaking the law.)
You can start helping people affected by this by making sure to namedrop the name "Peter Pawlowski" every time you see someone bring up Masstagger. If someone accuses you of doxxing, just tell them that we don't even know if Peter Pawlowski is a real name or an alias, if could be a fake name. Peter Pawlowski is /u/morpen on Reddit so tell people to mass-block that account and (especially if they are Europeans) to report /u/morpen for using Reddit to apparently violate the GDPR in Europe. A lot of people online have a black box perception of technology, and adding a name to a piece of software helps to remind them that software is made by people, and people can be held responsible for what their software does. People might not understand what API calls are and how this relates to their online privacy but they can understand personalities. Look at the way Mark Zuckerberg became widely despised online after the Snowden revelations, people feel like Mark Zuckerberg personally violated their privacy. If we can get people on Reddit to focus on the man behind Masstagger, that has an empowering effect on them. As non-hackers/non-nerds they can't do anything about Masstagger but they do something about Peter Pawlowski.
Masstaggers are scared of being targeted, but they misunderstand the nature of the targeting they are likely to get:
