Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

It's funny because as she is spinning this web, she is now constantly deleting story posts as she goes along. Even pointless ones about how she can't sleep for the billionth time.

She played the scared little waif card last night. She got a consultation with ir about her tube, I'm guessing threatened with lawyers and got them to change the tube out for a gj. But now is terrified because the same guy is doing the procedure? The one she just threatened to sue? Yep I'd be scared too. Idk why she couldn't request a different surgeon. Also funny that she complained about local numbing when she has spent weeks complaining about how dangerous it is for her to go under anestesthia. She continues to go back and forth talking tough about lawyers and then saying she would be too scared to get them involved. My guess is she doesn't have a case to involve them in but since her followers suggest them she has to touch on this.

She has been only surviving off saline (she also got lactate ringers which is a step between saline and tpn, has dextrose, sodium, and potassium), Zofran and morphine which sounds so purely awful that they are actually helping her pain. I don't think she understands how rare it is to actually get morphine unless you're dying because of the respriratory suppression. Posts the entire woe is me saga:
-I am regretting marriage and kids
-everything that happens to me is totes real and scary even though I could have gone home weeks ago and continued trying to eat on my own.
(when she mentions her roommate with gp and how they are so alike... I doubt it. Your roommate is probably doing everything to not have a tube
Out of every GP patient I have seen, not one has a tube in real life. They come in for flares, get iv Zofran and Phenergan, get patched up and sent home and they eat just like everyone else)
-talks about her two year Olds headaches which could be chiari flares or a two year old still cutting molars, and knowing she will get mommy's attention and breast juice if she screams loud enough for the consoling. She's at the age kids will act out especially if they don't feel like they're getting enough attention. And for being a child that would be so clumsy, she doesn't have many cuts or scrapes or bruises.
(I find it funny that she goes for two years being literally fine, her kids are both fine, nothing is bad, then she just takes Lilly into the doctor and a huuuuuuge spiral follows, now everyone is chronically ill, except the army husband, and they are all getting really bad fast)
-not to mention allergic reactions to socks and having to pee on a "special toilet" (here Helena let me help you out. It's called a bedside commode)
-4-5 days without a real feed sounds exaggerated. They would only need to stop feeds the night before surgery and tried to resume after but could only do five minutes. Or is she counting that she has to be npo or nothing by belly until they do the next surgery that she begged for. And if she wasn't tolerating feeds before getting her tube it would have made zero sense for them to give her a tube before sorting out that problem. They don't like sending weak, unnouroshed patients into surgery if at all possible, it's bad practice.

Another confusing digest from the "hospital stay from hell"

Just to be clear, the moment someone threatens to sue their doctor, the doctor is no longer going to treat them. Munchies claiming threatening to sue a doctor got them what they want are full of shit.

If they threatened to sue, the doctor gave them their walking papers and told them to find a doctor they don’t think is committing gross malpractice on them. Threatening to sue is probably the absolute worst way to try and get a doctor to do something for you.

I am curious to see if eventually the families of some munchies will sue doctors for malpractice. While many doctors hate these fakers, the munchies with good insurance are very tempting to croakers who just want to upgrade their vacation home. (Good thing most USA munchies are Medicaid leeches and many doctors won’t bother indulging their BS because the low billing rate.)

ok just a general question from a lurker, are owner trained service dogs a new-ish trend for OTT people? I keep seeing “psychiatric service dogs” on IG, along with dogs for people with POTS or autism...what does a service dog do for someone with POTS? How is an autism service dog different from an ESA?

I’m not in the chronic illness “community” at all so I have no idea if this is just the new thing or if there’s actual legitimacy to training your own service dog that you need for your dysautonomia. I’m skeptical partially because people seem to enjoy the custom quirky patches and coordinated dog vests/leads/accessories a little too much...

Yes. In the last few years the internet has taught people that owner-training a service dog is legal and that service dogs can be trained for things other than blindness/deafness/wheelchair tasks, that they only need one trained task to be considered a legit service dog, and that that task can be something really dumb and easy to train like "blocking" which is when the dog stands in front or behind them in public places to provide a physical barrier that prevents other people getting too close.

Autism service dogs from programs are often trained to do things like plant themselves so if the kid they are tied to tries to bolt, they act as an anchor, to use their body heat and pressure to calm down a kid who is freaking out, etc. There are legitimate things they can do for a severely autistic child that basically acts as a service to their parents - keeps them from having to be the one that chases little Timmy down the street, for example.

I’ve been contemplating putting this here for a few days and decided fuck it, so here we go.
Kiwis, meet Tesia Nichols. Undergraduate in Psychology and getting her masters in social work(which, wow, that sure sounds useful /sneed). I met this girl in 2014. This was before any of her medical “issues” though she was very thin and obsessed with exercise.

I stumbled onto her page recently only to discover she has moved back to the Midwest, says she has gastroparesis, has a feeding tube and was scheduled for j-tube and g-tube surgery but apparently on the pre-op table found out she is pregnant, even though doctors had told her pregnancy wouldn’t be possible for her body.

I am no medical kiwi, and am unsure whether all of this gastroparesis is essentially complete fiction or if she does have it and is just over the top. If I had to guess I’d say the former. She goes back and forth between “I can’t eat anything my stomach problems are sooo severe!” And “sometimes I can eat and uwu grateful”.

Lots and lots of tube porn. She is a very dramatic human, throwing tantrums when she didn’t get her way. Now that she’s pregnant, how is TPN going to effect the baby? And as some of you have pointed out with others previously, the long and healthy hair. If she really couldn’t eat how could she keep her nice hair?

Edit to add: she always uses retarded hashtags too. #getthepiccture is one of my personal favs.

Secretsofserenity bugs me so much. She has two perfect kids and is clearly deciding she's going to put zipper scars on their heads and destroy them because they're prettier than her.

Edit: Oh shit, that woman in the post just above mine is pregnant with a girl? These women inflict on their girl children all their hatred for themselves because they see them as extensions of themselves instead of as independent human beings. That kid will have a tube before she's 6.

Imagine being HuskyMischief and one night while asleep in bed you start hearing tapping and dragging...

*Tap-tap*

*Shuffle-shuffle*

You jolt wide awake with fear - there must be an intruder!
You turn around to wake up your newly-handicapped, armless fiance... But he isn't there.

The shuffling enters through the open door in the dark bedroom while your heart races with fear... You keep thinking about your defensless fiance who has no arms - you need to be a man, you need to protect him from now on... You need to do something, now.

The dragging mass is almost near you.. And then it tries to make a sound. Your heartbeat is pounding in your chest, you can't hear anything, sweat drips from your forehead...

The black mass drags itself closer - you realize It's covered in what looks like blood, shit and vomit. The stench hits you.

The... Thing, it opens It's maw as if to speak...

Instead it shrieks, "Baw! BAW! I'm a real dog now... I became a real DOG for you... Am I not the bestest doggo?"

You start weeping as you see your fiance's missing legs.

The question that remains to this day is...

Who was phone?

That was the funniest thing I've read all week

BIID is fucking creepy as shit on its own, why did furries have to pick it up and make a mega freak show out of it?

I swear, BIID is it’s own circle of hell crazy. The scary kind of crazy that would usually end in prison if they hadn’t cut off their fucking limbs.
My goal is to find a conspiritard furry with morgellons. It would be like winning the lolcow lottery

Yeah, the thing is that people who claim to have very mild ASD (what would have been called Aspergers a few years ago) but can still function in the world use it as an excuse to have a service dog that does nothing for them except provide emotional support. You're totally correct about that. And of course, everyone who has been looked at cross-eyed has PTSD these days and requires a dog to get them through life.

Even people like Mary Frey who is totes really sick with Cystic Fibrosis. Her service dog's only task is to lean against her while she coughs and do emotional support-type "tasks" which aren't really tasks so much as they are dogs doin' dog stuff with their humans. There's no reason she needs that dog with her at all times since you can just, idk, lean on any inanimate object instead of potentially harming a dog by leaning on him during a violent coughing spell.

It's hard for me to feel bad for her when she calls it a special toilet 😂 like she's the only one using it. While the opposite is true. Most people use commodes in the hospital setting. It's almost as common as heparin shots and compression stockings.

The special toilet made me laugh so hard. It's special just like a portapot is.

Really interesting. I didn't know that. So if the same doctor who 'placed the wrong tube' is going to 'redo her tube' then she hasn't talked to anyone from legal of which I'm not surprised about. I honestly think this is one big online play to her. Gets a G tube has to make it a saga for drama. I usually don't follow these munchers super close but this one something about her just really rankles me so I keep checking her page lol

I’ve been contemplating putting this here for a few days and decided fuck it, so here we go.

The sheer amount of medical shit she tries to shove into one photo would qualify her for OTT to me. Looking back at her IG? It's kinda sad because before all this munchie stuff she did SO much. She had an amazing and dare I say it blessed life. Now she's all about the munchie life. I always wonder what 'triggered' this in these people.

Actually I doubt she will get either daughter a surgery. Which I don't know if I'm for or against. While having your child get surgery seems terrible, young bodies heal easier and therefore the surgery would be the most helpful the younger she gets it instead of waiting til she can make her own decision when she's older. But either way I'm not sure if her daughters symptoms are even chiari related as I've heard the same cry from many toddlers who weren't having severe head pain. And she hasn't mentioned much besides her daughters clumsiness which doesn't seem too severe with the lack of scrapes and bruises. Chiari is one of those things that can be present and silent and only found on accident.
But I do know someone with chiari who got the surgery and is 100% symptom free now (when before she had full numbness of her arm and other scary symptoms). SOS will spread that there is no way at all to cure chiari, is very against the surgery, yet many who have the surgery are in essence cured now. So again idk what's right in this situation. Once a zipper is healed its barely noticeable as it's covered by the hair 🤷‍♀️
I think her thought process is going to be the opposite of what you're saying. She's going to make sure that her daughters have less scars than she does so she seems like the most special sick princess and doesn't have to share that throne but will continue to get compassion and donations for her sick daughters to have every woo treatment in the book.

I know it was no one in my personal life because the person who posted about me mentioned how they found me and because no one in my personal life knew about the account at the time. My account also was public at the time but I changed that.

I’ve had testing for my condition twice and both times were positive test results for my condition, so again, definitely not a munchie. I also have medical records from the testing. But it was because of reading the comments on here that I started to believe maybe I was making the symptoms up and thought the second testing would be normal. But if it had been I would have let things go. Again though, I understand no one can make me feel anything, it was just my interpretation that led me to feeling that way. I’ve had a long journey, as I suppose everyone has. My thoughts though is that you claim you know when someone is faking it but you can’t always know that based on posts online.

I’ve never asked for money for my condition and never will. But like any human being I do need emotional support, although I wasn’t accepting it until recently even though people were offering it.

I will probably stop posting soon as I just wanted to know why.

Just out of sheer curiosity, why were you needed to be tested twice? Just as surely one test would provide a definite answer?

Ask for hard questions on IG and someone will call you out. Must be nice to be able to afford to buy a diagnosis like that and a matching one for your mom. Matching necklaces are so last century.

Someone covered the 'tism. But unless I'm missing something, you are right about POTS. I have thought the same thing, actually have a friend who thinks she will get a SD for POTS, and idk what the point is. According to her, it will alert to heartrate/impending syncope episodes? First, I don't understand why you would need a SD to alert for a high hr, as you can feel those. People sometimes get a lot of anxiety over hr's that don't even cause anything bad, because of they way they feel it. To a person who has no experience, it can feel scary. But for people who have been around the block, it's just annoying. Also- high hr is just a part of pots. It's uncomfortable sure, but why do you need an alert for what you can feel? There's really nothing to "alert" you to. For fainting? Again, you start to feel shitty before fainting, usually you feel shit. It's not like a seizure impending.

Plus, I don't think dogs can even detect heartrate. And I know they can't predict a faint, that is not a trainable skill. So wtf do they do? Myself, I haven't been able to find an answer that made sense. Afaik there is no legit reason to have a POTS service dog.

I've explained a thousand times why POTS alert is bullshit. If you actually think about what they're saying the dog can do (the standard Jaquieism that they get a "15 minute alert" to their "POTS episodes") what it translates to is "this dog is psychic and will know that 15 minutes in the future I will stand up."

Most alerts are bullshit. Seizure alert is also bullshit. In fact, in many cases that the dog is "alerting" to seizures what's actually happening is that the owner has PNES episodes and the dog "alerting" triggers them to have one. This has been studied.

There are seizure response dogs that get help, bring meds, or lay with the human while they recover (but not the munchie idea that they guide a confused handler home since dogs don't understand traffic lights. Even guide dogs are signaled by their owners that it's safe to cross an intersection; nor the munchie idea that they protect the handler since any sign of aggression/protection should disqualify them from public access and additionally if someone calls 911 you don't want Fido biting the paramedics.) There are also dogs that learn behavior cues, for example if someone with temporal lobe epilepsy has an aura and behaves a specific way before a seizure the dog will eventually learn through conditioning that "x happened therefore y" and you can capture that behavior and turn it into a task: bringing you medication for example, or laying in front of the door so you can't walk outside of the home while you're confused.

But the only true and honest alert, as in the dog is able to detect a thing with your body chemistry changing, is a very rare ability to smell blood sugar changes. And now with CGM devices they're obsolete for that purpose.

edit: I have to give my standard reminder that all of this information will fall on deaf ears if brought up to the munch bunch. They will rally around each other and swear that none of what I've said about dogs here is true, because if it's true it means they don't need their dogs to go to Walmart with them.

I really don’t get why munchies latch so hard on to POTS. Maybe I don’t actually understand what it really is, but it just sounds like usual shit that human bodies sometimes do, especially if you’re not living a particularly healthy lifestyle. Sometimes your heart beats faster if you stand up too quickly? Boohoo, stand up slower next time.

So yeah, a POTS service dog would just be for attention or an excuse to have a dog.

Because it's super easy to get diagnosed with. It's exceedingly common during adolescence but most people will grow out of it. So these young girls get legitimately diagnosed with POTS because they for realsies have it, but then use it as an excuse to tap out of adulthood/use it as a launchpad to get other diagnoses. And even if you don't have it, you can essentially induce it by, like you said, not living a healthy lifestyle. Don't exercise, don't drink water. Bam, POTS symptoms.

The solution is drink more water, eat more salt, and condition your heart to not do dumb shit, but that's not glamorous.

For some reason, that Lupus Lauren girl annoys me more than most others. At this point, there's an established 'road to munchiedom', and all these girls are just following the same steps. It's not even original; there's literally nothing special about Lauren. Just another blandly pretty-ish blonde girl posting the same shit as everyone else. Bored now. Call me when she weighs 70 lbs or her legs start rotting off.

I'm so over all these EDS bitches in general. If you're willing to post close-ups of your ports, tubes, weird skin rashes, and god knows what the fuck else, then why aren't you posting pictures of your dislocations, or proof of your beighton scores at the very least? Why no pics of the stretchy/thin/bruised skin? Instead of writing out these long diatribes calling out KF and IF and all the other haterz, why not just post proof? Also, if you're claiming the same condishuns as the other 10,000 CI bloggers in your network, can you really claim that they're rare?

I'm ready for a new disease to come along. Any guesses what the next hot diagnoses will be for 2020?

Chiari is poised to be the new thing they all have, but that is also boring and part of the EDS package deal. Seen a recent uptick in spinal stenosis and various neuropathies as well.

I'm hoping more people go the Bee route and fake a temporary potato-inducing neurodegenerative disorder that magically clears up when they feel like doing something fun. Also, more munchies posting photos of them pissing themselves from their super real seizures plz.

I do feel like most of her story is a bunch of bull. Calls a patient rep apparently but never speaks of said rep again or mentions this. Uses her cardiologist to bitch to yet who knows if this is true and how that one day he happened to be wandering the hall outside her room. But again haven't heard much of him. Says she's talked to lawyers and the like but yet says she doesn't want them involved and still sounds like most of her story has been fabricated by her as events aren't lining up at all. I don't even know if she's gunna get a different tube placed or if she's leaving with the one she has. But you're right. Doctors have zero problem signing off on a patient to leave if they don't want the care offered to them.

Poor SOS. If only she’d done her research before posting, well, anything. She was called out on her confusing as fuck behaviour pretty damn quickly if I’m remembering correctly? But she kept going like the true warrior Instagram princess she is and now has to deal with the so called stress of constantly trying to make more and more amendments to the bullshit excuses she had to keep making due to thinking people would just take her word for everything. Poor, poor thing. One would think you’d be visibly more torn up about having to get a fucking feeding tube to survive over what strangers on the Internet were saying about you. Hopefully she actually meant it when she posted that she was shutting the fuck up now. One can only hope that she’ll keep her kids out of the behaviours she’s applied to herself.

As for munching trends, I wonder if compression disorders will become the new thing as a must have on anyone’s laundry list of symptoms on their instagram profiles? SMAS and MALS Facebook support groups seem to be devolving at a steady rate over the last couple of years not unlike how POTS and EDS ones did over like last 5-10 years and I’ve noticed more than a handful of munchies mention the syndromes. It’s bullshit since they’re both easily ruled out by imaging but a doctor or two in the US started offering incredibly risky open surgeries to young girls “with the anatomy” for either (whatever the fuck that means?) despite imaging results which is why I’m guessing the munching activity is picking up in that area. It’ll be like the new chiari!
