Do we actually know if Bob was bullied, as in docs or a separate party saying he was? Bob is a narcissistic entitled twat who probably rewrites his past three times a day to whatever makes him feel superior; he's the definitionof an unreliable narrator. He might have been bullied, or more likely people just pushed back whenever he tried starting shit.

He has alluded to it a bunch. Saying things like going to school wasnt fun because of his classmates, and stuff about him being taken out of class for problems.

Meanwhile a man who decides his working schedule has a completely fucked sleeping schedule.

Bob has the worst of both worlds; he lives in a suburb that's as expensive as living in a city. So he gets all of the expense that comes with living in a city, while living far enough away that it's a major pain in the ass to get to anything. At least if he lived in the country, he'd have the bother of having to travel to things, but a cheap, nice apartment to live in. In some Midwestern, mid-sized cities and college towns, luxury apartments full of amenities run about 900 dollars/mo. Cost of living is also a lot lower, with gas being especially cheap.

Same. I also think that he's incorporated it into his worldview(s). That in tandem with that Bob probably believes in the idea that nerds/ social outcasts like him are bullied because they are inherently smarter than the average person and that those who bully him are dumb and destined to working low-end jobs, is probably why Bob harks on about intelligence so much. He thinks he's smarter than those who bullied him and flaunts his own perceived intelligence as a means of proving his own superiority.

A while back we discussed his thoughts about the film "Revenge of the Nerds." Bob thought the only thing that was wrong with it was that the Nerds were into computers and math, whereas TRUE NERDS like Bob would be into examining and reviewing pop culture ephemera. In other words, Bob hates that fact that out of all the Nerds there are, he's by far the laziest type. The type who obsess over sci-fi themed media (the softest sci-fi they can find) and who compensate for their perceived lack of intelligence by Fedora-tipping and jizzing over SCIENCE!

If he really did have some serious bullying happen to him, it seems like he would have talked about it at some point during all his time on the internet, if not dedicated time to it in his unintentionally revealing autobiography/let's play. This is a guy who has a lengthy rehearsed story about how he got fired by a psycho gun-toting Christian Republican from an unpaid position at an all access cable show for bashing The Passion of the Christ decades ago that he made an hour long video on just a few months ago since not enough people read about it when he shoehorned it into his book.

I don't think Bob was ever held down in a toilet and given a swirly or hung from a flagpole. I think the extent of the bullying he received was incredibly minor and mundane; other kids saying they don't want to be in the same group with that fat weirdo or want him playing on their kickball team. Bob doesn't know how to spin that into a dramatic tale where he's an oppressed maverick, so he's never mentioned it. If you read his book (the most interesting parts used to be online, but sadly I think they've been taken down) he doesn't write about the other kids bullying him at all. It's all about his friends abandoning him for Sega Genesis (in reality they probably stopped wanting to hang out with him because they were emotionally developing with puberty and he wasn't) and him getting in trouble with the faculty and having to get counseling for being a surly, lonely, tantrum throwing bastard (which he presents as him being this Hannibal Lector evil genius who played his counselor like a fiddle).

Then there's Bob's old usenet page from when he was 15. He actually comes across as much happier than he is now, if very immature for his age.

As far as I know, the only reason people think Bob was bullied badly is because of his violent hatred of the chads, and because he's so exceptional. No hard evidence at all, or even confirmation from the man himself.

It's why Clerks spoke to his heart. A pair of slackers quoting Star Wars at each other while whining that their lives aren't better despite not doing anything to fix those circumstances fits Bob to a tee. Bob is Dante, except Dante had fucked twelve girls by 24.

I don't think Bob is poor. He has no wife or kids so he's a single man living in a shitty basement apartment and making, what, 50K a year through patreon and ad revenue? He's making more than 3600 a month on patreon which is 43200-44000 alone, plus youtube ad revenue, plus any other revenue streams he may have...he's not rich, but that's really not a bad income for a single man unless he's renting an apartment in a ridiculously high cost city.

I don't give a shit how expensive the suburb he's living in is, a hideous basement apartment outside an urban area is not going to cost much and he has a low cost lifestyle given he's a childless weirdo that never goes on dates. If Bob is claiming he's poor it's purely a) a plea for attention and b) an attempt to deflect criticism about his hatred of poor people by falsely claiming that he's one of them. It's kind of like when educated socialist youtubers claim to be working class because they're desperate for proletarian street cred.

Bob ought not to be poor. Even knocking off the cut Patreon takes, the self-employed tax, and a bunch of other things that would take down his income from the gross, he should still make enough for a single man to live a semi-decent life in a vacuum. However, if he's living with his brother (signs point to "yes") he's probably getting a sweetheart deal on the rent, paying partial or nothing for utilities, and not being required to cook for himself consistently, all of which should reduce his overhead considerably.

But that doesn't mean that Bob isn't poor. As anyone even passingly familiar with his Twitter knows, he has zero impulse control, and his obsession with pop culture ephemera could well make him a whale in more ways than the obvious. Some of that nerd shit can get fucking expensive (think collectibles, MTG, or the like) and if Bob impulse buys as much as he impulse eats, I could see him living pudgy hand to gaping mouth no matter how much he brings in.

I don't think Bob cooms over SCIENCE!. It's more accurate to say he cooms over his own perceived intelligence and Elizabeth Warren.
 
Blob likes SCIENCE when it means he can use it to just shout down anyone attempting to question his desires for POWER.

He's a breathtakingly unoriginal moron which likely contributes to his incessant need to pontificate endlessly on subjects that are not difficult yet remain forever beyond his simple grasp.

This is not an uncommon phenomenon where an expert in one subject (work with me here) feels entitled to discuss all subjects with the same self-assurance of correctness. Sports writers, film/art critics, etc. since they took up spots in major newspapers have never been unable to resist the urge to try their hand at political punditry. Frank Rich for example.

If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say that it’s because the ultimate message is that life is to chaotic and unpredictable to be able to control even with science and technology. This seems to run contrary to Bobbyboi’s outlook on “progress”
