Christ, this is legitimately depressing. The futility gets to me. This is it, this is the best she could hope for from life. There’s no goal to work towards, no way things could get better, no hope of living a life. I get that it must be hard to let go, but to prolong it like this is sick.

Of course its sick she was basically just a tortured starving prop that was used for asspats and state goblin bucks. Every one of the videos I've been able to stomach watching shows Lola just derping into nowhere with her barely-sighted eyes (although I believe what sight she and Claire had couldn't be interpreted by the brain as it wasn't developed enough ever to sort through the signals from the eyeballs so they were functionally blind) while Gwen SHOUTED her emotions at her. "Are you MAD? Hee hee!! *Loal derps into nowhere* "Oh, she's smiling!" *cut to Lola derping into nowhere, not a single flicker of what you be interpreted as a smile on her face* .. on and on.
Then there's Scott, acting like a mad puppeteer flinging the girls up and down or dancing their limbs for the camera while Gwen SHOUTS EMOTIONS.
It's literally scenes from a horror movie. Or the Twilight Zone. I don't know fucking what. Stygian, neo-Kurtzian, Lovecraftian, call it what you want, they all apply. Legit horror.
Yeah, she was half Claire's size, and Claire was stunted, but Claire at least had a tube. Why didn't Lola, does anyone know? She looked like jerky, no normal fat on her at all, especially in her later years, clearly she never ever got the nutrition ever a totally sedentary vegetable needs. Why was this tolerated? Too much for anyone to begin to fight the delusional fundie mommy army that aurrounds this type? Doctors etc figured she can't feel pain like a normal kid or even a normal disabled one so they let this kind of neglect go?
Honestly, in terms of dignity, privacy and actual physical care, Lola clearly may have been better off in an institution of some kind dedicated to her kind of ultra-severe issues.

Gwen didn't give Lola a tube for two reasons: one, she wanted her daughter to learn to eat food and two, it wouldn't be "cute". Her plan has always been treating her daughters like down syndrome children or developmentally disabled in some other way, nevermind the fact that they stopped developing sometime between the fetus and newborn stages. Her obsession with the circus costumes and "cute" photos also trumped Lola's need for sustenance (although what she always really needed was the sweet embrace of death)

Gwen probably argued that Lola was too delicate for a general anaesthetic, but that’s bullshit because even tiny newborns and preemies undergo surgery if it’s necessary. When you balance up the risks vs. the benefits, a feeding tube would still have won out. So, honestly, why Lola didn’t have a feeding tube is a mystery. Some people on this thread have speculated that Gwen wanted the “normality” of feeding her kid orally.
It’s just one more aspect of basic medical care (CONVENTIONAL medicine that is: not oils, organic produce and goat milk, which is obviously vastly superior) denied to those girls because Gwen hated doctors, with their effective drugs, opinions and poor prognoses.

Well, we've all seen what her 'normal' by mouth feeding looked like - limited to pureed slop, most of which Lola choked on and pushed out and dribbed down her front, and the rest went down whatever hole it could. How any parent would want to watch that shit day in day out for 10 or more years is beyond me.
Yeah, I think she hated doctors because they got in the way of her fantasyland because doctors don't deal with 'miracles' and feelings, doctors deal with medical facts.
She hated Dr. Dobson and wrote him her cunty letters as if him telling her the general prognosis for kids with these massive brain issues was a personal attack, not simply what could be gleaned from the actual evidence regarding the lifespan of children born with this affliction.
Treating each passing year of life as a 'fuck you' to a specific doctor shows Gwen's intellectual and emotional maturity are low. She's like a cunty teen taking every fact of life personally. Doctors tell you what they know based on curent knowledge and evidence and the facts of the case in front of them. They are not obliged to tell you stupid lies to spare your feelings about having produced two less than human babies in a row. Have a word with your god if that's what bothers you. Don't take it out on the doctors.
