He looks a lot like his sister, and more feminine than his mother. Critical features like his jaw, nasal ridge, and glabella totally lack the masculinization that characterizes post-pubertal males. His shoulders aren't delicate, but neither are they distinctively male. He has a prominent forehead, but apparently so do other women in his family, and in any case he's too young to attribute it to male pattern baldness even if he had testosterone.

I actually find that those who go through puberty as boys and transition in their late teens, early twenties look more normal than those who medically transition as pre pubertal children.
The blockers stunt their overal growth which causes them to look like neither men nor women.

I also think Jazz is mentally exceptional. Can't believe they offered him a place at Harvard. He must be mentally under performing as he never had the chance of experiencing brain maturization like normal kids of his age.

Something that I noticed is that his behavioral pattern is still very masculine. His temper tantrums especially.
He has a mood disorder. He can get aggressive on a whim.
Women do not usually react that way, that's more typical of men.

the longer answer is we don’t know because up to now, delayed puberty has been confined to restricted cases where kids have genetic disorders, or serious malnutrition etc. There are always rare cases of kids not entering puberty until late teens or even twenties, but we have no idea at all when the window truly closes, or what happens when you stop normal hormone production and pump a kid full of cross sex hormones. It’s Wild West stuff.
What we do know is that puberty is vital for the maturation of body and mind. Half your bone density is laid down in puberty. Stopping puberty stunts IQ. Puberty blockers affect multiple body systems - endocrine, bone, brain, heart. We have no idea of the long term effects because nobody is monitoring these kids long term.

- a state created mechanism to remove your children from you for wrongthink
- state sanctioned child abuse
- surgical and medical creation of a class of young adults with stunted childlike bodies but over the age of consent, with lowered IQ.

and people are cheering it on. Honk fucking honk.

I hope these kids sue. I hope they create class action suits that bankrupt big players. That is the only thing that will stop this. It’s horrific, and the medics involved should be hanging their heads in shame.

Seconding the theory that the parents aren't always entirely to blame. Parents are frequently ignored in these cases. Best case scenario, parents who oppose it are ignored and treatment proceeds anyway behind their backs. Worst case scenario (typically in BC or the UK, not often in the US), CPS gets called.

I have a friend who goes to medical school. During his psychiatric rotation, he got to sit in on a consultation for an MTF teenager (according to my friend he was around 12 or 13) who was anxious about his body beginning to acquire secondary male sex traits. The teenager's mother was an actual doctor, a pediatrician if I recall correctly. The mother was trying to argue against putting her son on HRT, most likely because she as a medical care provider knew better than anyone the hazards of the drugs. What the psychologist decided to do as a "middle-ground" solution was to put the kid on fucking lupron, which is even more dangerous than estridiol! This mother, despite being both the boy's guardian and a licensed physician, had to concede and start giving her son a dangerous, experimental treatment for a condition he might not even actually have. Un-be-fucking-lieveable.

I'm not going to say what hospital/med school this was at because I don't want to incriminate my friend, but it's a very prestigious one in the United States. This isn't some small quack hospital in Canuckistan. This is a top-tier med school in the United States, which was comparatively "conservative" treatment of troons. Most of you guys could probably guess what school I'm talking about-- it's a household name.

He seemed kind of surprised when I told him that the "moderate" "compromise" solution they gave for the kid was actually the more extreme one. Lupron was originally created to treat precocious puberty, then later used as an experimental treatment for cancer. People who took it as kids have reported seizures and serious bone problems even after they stopped taking the medication. It's nothing to sneeze at, and these side effects are public knowledge-- you can literally google it.

Neither of these traits-- hips or voice-- are appropriately female, but not obviously adult-male either.

I think this is why Jazz passes for some people. We're so used to seeing troons that don't even remotely pass that when someone is more stealth than they are it feels like passing.

I know a troon IRL who doesn't pass at all despite being young and relatively short for a male. Obvious man-voice, five o'clock shadow, messy, nappy hair, horrid fashion sense, etc. He passes so horribly that before I heard someone else call him "she," I actually didn't even think that he was trans. I just thought he was a gay guy.
