Piggy Lou probably imagines that Desmond is her mini-me. He isn't. There is no way an 11 year old boy -- even one who is flamingly gay -- is going to be that into the music his mom was into during her youth. That could definitely be the case. But, I think there are enough worrying signs (the dark circles, the lifestyle, hanging around known criminals, etc.) that make it cause for alarm. If Desmond were just some random kid at the park, I wouldn't immediately jump to thinking it was the parents' fault or that there was abuse going on -- but we know enough about his mother's absolute batshit craziness that it becomes a real possibility that there is more to the story.

Also, it is well known that kids who are sexually abused often develop eating disorders.

I'm amazed his older sister hasn't stepped in [assuming she's legal age and can take care of him] and have him removed from their grasp. I was loling at everyone suggesting ballet lessons. You have to PAY for ballet lessons. You really think Wendylouhoo would PAY for Desmond to do something that would take him away from the stripping engagements and sponsorships that pay for her own fat existence.
