Manosphere Jordan Peterson - Internet Daddy Simulator, Post-modern Anti-postmodernist, Canadian Psychology Professor, Depressed, Got Hooked on Benzos

I don't get why people are so happy about Peterson going to rehab. I don't think he's ever said he was flawless. On the contrary, I've heard him talk about how he's dealt with substance abuse. Should we discount any advice from someone who fucked up? Nobody could ever give any advice ever. Sometimes some people are too smart for their own good. Maybe Peterson thought he knew too well how benzos affect people and thought he'd know how to stave it off. Then the addiction got it's hooks in him. At least he got himself into rehab quickly before it became an life threating issue.
its more or less because its funny in an ironic way, that someone who is all about confronting your demons, self-help, self actualization is actually someone who needs drugs to confront his demons.

And also, it is kinda funny to laugh at his insufferable fans.

He's a bad example of his own philosophy, which admittedly is a little sympathetic given the things he has going on, but if your struggles are so bad that you can't handle being a public figure, then perhaps the warm glove of collectivism is more suited for you.

Hyper-individualism is a terrible philosophy. I remember during JBP's debate with Zizek he said something along the lines of "we come into this world cold. scared, and alone" and that exemplifies the paranoid antisocial tendencies of people like him.

Took me a moment to notice it.

Seems weird to post on your ex-husband's page.

Isn't that almost always the case, the shrink and/or self help person is actually a complete mess at home?
And the pastor preaching loudest that all gays go to hell is regularly fucking rent-boys. Just because it's a rule doesn't make it any less hilarious when finally exposed.

He should be taking a long hiatus, if not for his mental health, then at least for his public image.

The Peterson line of thinking: Collectivism = collective farming = USSR = COMMIES!

You know, funnily enough, I feel like a lot of people who are into Peterson would have been the same people who were into Ayn Rand and Objectivism, which is just as bullshit.

And another absolutist ideologue who cannot even live by their own principles. Oh no wait, she was just "stealing back her money" :story:

Bu-Bu-But Dr.Peterson taught me how to be a man. I never had a father and he has helped me so much. Some people have 50k+ debt in student loans and can’t do anything. I only have 10k in debt from his lessons and my room/penis is spotless. It took me a while to get used to the beef fat and salt diet but I have never had more blood in my body, what with the constant nosebleeds. He is a hero and his daughter is a saint that allows people like me into her exclusive den.

Ayn Rand didn't have any principles other than "being selfish is good," which I think explains a lot about her fans.
I think you're oversimplifying her beliefs by a tad bit. Still, there is certainly something that can be said about individualist belief systems and liberal society in general, and the problems that come from these philosophies (selfish behavior being rewarded is one of those issues).
