Boys can be rambunctious and difficult to control, so let's put them on Ritalin/blockers in an attempt to socialize them as "acceptable and compliant" while thwarting their fiery will and spirit? You may be onto something. Much of the transgenda seems to be about watering down and neutering, if not outright ending, true masculinity.

It's similar (and still massively over-diagnosed) but with ADHD the goal is medicating any young boy who, for example, can't sit still for 7 hours a day because he's full of energy and just won't behave like the female students - whereas with "gender dysphoria" they're targeting the more reserved young boys who don't display that sort of overtly stereotypically extraverted masculine behaviour. They're pathologizing them by saying they must be girls. So yeah, depending on the male childs temperament, he'll likely line up with one or the other, or both. As the dude above said as I was typing this, a lot of it seems to be about neutering masculinity (as a form of control) because they don't behave like the model female students.

The reason that this is happening at all is that such people do not live in a society. Obviously, any decent person would take the appropriate action against the woman, the judges, and the lawyers responsible in this case if their son was affected. In fact, a decent person would do this to protect someone else's children (but muh individualism). But not even the father will do the needful in this case.

I look forward to when one of these blustering conservative pundits has this happen to them, and they do nothing. It'll be a great laugh.

There are more troons in the South than there are in the North. That's not a coincidence. If you're a really traditional person who had rigid ideas of what men and women do (like many people in conservative areas tend to be), you might begin to think you're the wrong sex if you enjoy things not within those definitions. Same applies to adults who observe those behaviors in children. It's not unthinkable that there are people out there who would rather have a troon "daughter" than an effeminate gay son.

I'm a little disturbed to see that no one in this thread has stopped and actually thought about this map for five consecutive seconds. There's an obvious problem with looking at it and saying "Yep, the South's the obvious champion of trannies!" Those four quadrants of the U.S. do not, in any way, have equal populations. In fact, the southeast has significantly more people than any of the other three quadrants of the listed map. Because autism, I went and looked up the populations of those four quadrants and figured out the percentage of the population of each that was trans, assuming the statistics in the map are accurate (and, Christ, who knows if they even are?). Here they are, from most to least trannie:

1. THE WEST : 0.554% trans
(total pop.: 78.1 million)

2. THE SOUTHEAST: 0.505% trans
(total pop.: 124.6 million)

3. THE NORTHEAST: 0.421% trans
(total pop.: 56.1 million)

4. THE MIDWEST: 0.403% trans
(total pop.: 68.3 million)

It seems like the bible belt falls in second place behind the notoriously secular western states. And that the battleground midwest lags in last, behind the urbanized, solidly Democrat northeast. Still, the southeast is in second place, and the midwest doesn't lag the northeast by that much. Overall, the map posted as evidence that it's 'traditional values' that are the primary cause of people trooning out is extremely ambiguous. Before people get too defensive, my point isn't that you're wrong, it's that since How to Lie with Statistics has been out for over 60 years, there's no excuse for reflexively falling for this sort of thing.

Being a pretty right wing guy in a blue state who gets really sick and tired of hearing how I need to cut and run to a red state rather than holding the line and fighting from others I have to admit that it tickles my funny bone a bit to be seeing this gross miscarriage of justice happen in the heart of Texas. Slippery Slope is as equally fallacious as it is legitimate. It is not the concept itself but its application. In this instance, it barely even qualifies as slippery slope given that it's analyzing history not predicting the future. A history that is well supported as most progressive parties had an element that wanted this.

Someone else has already corrected that map for statistics, but I would go farther and argue that, at minimum Maryland, West Virginia, and Texas shouldn't be included in defining the South. I would further include Virginia and Florida.
