Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

This is going to go on for a long time because if Vic and Ty are smart they will be after an actual solution. No settlement, no half-assed judgments, no compromise.

And because they won't be taking an easy way out, it means it'll drag on and on because everyone involved knows there isn't going to be a simple solution to this nightmare of a case.

But it needs to happen, because innocent people are being condemned.

Something something justice, something something blah blah blah.

The lolcow content should be enough for the fringe kiwis anyway.

I'm perfectly sure that if a reasonable settlement comes to Vic, a settlement that will rights the wrongs caused by the settling party, Vic will take it.

I don't believe that Vic is/want to be a pionneer against the MeeToo movement. He wants his reputation back, and the defamation to be cleared and stopped. Only if the defense isn't willing to offer that should a monetary judgement be needed.

he doesn't even want his "reputation back" he couldn't care less about reputation from the past. He wants his WORK back the work he loves to perform and especially the work thousands of people loved to hear him perform.

Any source to that?

Offically no, but it was implied by many of us and Nick since Moronica didn't seem to have any coaching for their depos. Then lemon fuhrer shows up and asks about the GFM. Casey's initial filings were sort of thrown together without having much detail in them so they didn't look like a lot of time was spent on them.

Nick said thier liability insurance made them hire Lemoine

There is also the very real possibility that if Chupp fucks up the case if it comes back to him, it will be appealed again. If you want to see a case that Chupp has constantly told to do a better job with look at EPISCOPAL CHURCH, ET AL. V. EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF FORT WORTH. This ride can go on for a very long time for various reasons and outcomes.

That case is really an example of why appeals sending a case back to the same judge who fucked it up in the first place isn't a great practice. He's clearly in over his head or just doesn't care and has been unable to make correct decisions in it.

As I mentioned earlier, if I were a judge handling this case and saw the contents of what's being filed, I would seriously kill myself. Maybe inside the courtroom during a hearing.

Is there anywhere in a courtroom that has the clearance to do a flip yet is high enough to be fatal?

Speaking of doing a flip Lawtwit is so incompetent I wouldn't have faith in any of them to assist in helping me do a flip, even if I paid them the entirety of Vic's GFM.

They could livetweet it though, but that might get fucked up too since they don't know how to tell a story without embellishing it with their own shitty opinions.

Exactly this. Vic wants his jobs back and for them to stop telling lies about him and admit they were, in fact, lies. Give him back his work, admit that none of that happened, and leave the man alone. Very likely the lawsuit goes away from just that. maybe, depending on how long it drags out before that settlement, he might need some monetary recompense to make up for the lost work hours/cons + paying his lawyers, but it's a whole lot less than what a jury will award him if he wins, and cause Funimation a whole lot less damage.

It still seems highly likely if TCPA fails, Funimation will immediately fold. That has been 100% of their plan from the start, and without it they have nothing. They just lose, and they lose ugly.

For the appeals thing, I understand its better to file early than late, as the appeals court could just say 'wait for sanctions and then re-submit'. But it seems like the entire matter is resolved and nothing is really stopping the sanctions/lawyer's fees of the TCPA. It is a consequence of it being entirely dismissed.

I guess the problem is that they don't want to play hot potato, tossing a case around and around, hoping that the slap-down will get the original judge's shit together rather than have a new one get used to the whole thing. But its a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Chupp seemed like he could not give a singular fuck about the case and seemed to want the thing gone, hence the five pages of toilet paper he wrote, knowing it was just going to get appealed anyway. His inconsistency is really weird as he seemed biased to varying levels on varying issues to everyone, not seeming to know what the fuck was going on half the time. It seemed like he read nothing and was trying to get a handle on the case in the courtroom itself, which for something with this much paper attached to it was next to impossible.

Hence all the firing from the hip and reading one binder and him being really inconsistent on things. It just seemed like he put in less than the bare minimum he needed. Its not that he was just shitty, he was inconsistently shitty.

Did Ty fuck up? Sure. But the Judge fucked up way more than Ty did.

People also forget that Vic didn’t even want to do this. The last thing he wanted to pursue litigation, because not only is he suing his former friends, but also the company where some of his current friends work. All it takes is one lawsuit and relationships and careers can unravel with a snap of a finger.

But he was forced to do it. because Monica and others wouldn’t shut up and defamed him constantly. They even tried to defame his fans (remember Samantha Inoue-Harte’s fake doxxing debacle). People who accuse Vic of using this lawsuit to “silence” his “victims” are barking the wrong tree: it’s because they weren’t “silence” about Vic that this lawsuit happen. Remember that.

I want Vic to continue working with his head up and entertain thousands of fans. But on a personal level, I want him to continue working with his friends, his real friends (besides @Svetlana, who deserves the highest form of praise for defending Vic) and for his friends to work with him without being hazed. The most heartbreaking thing about this to me is for Vic to be separated from his friends. I know fans are important, but to be isolated by your male and female friends in such that they can’t even mention you in feat of losing their job is absolutely horrible.
