Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

If only more film franchises knew when to say when like Back to The Future did.

Just make Kylo Lelouch all you had to do.
lelouch.jpg

A masked iconoclast, a terrorist leader and a ruthless general willing to do anything and burn any bridge to fulfill his vision of a galaxy at peace. But behind it all is just a teenage boy with serious daddy issues who fell to the dark side after his hero of an uncle tried to run him through with a fucking lightsaber. That'd turn anyone off of the 'light'.

i'm not even the biggest fan of ashoka but man is this a bad idea lmao
Her voice actress, Ashley Eckstein, once did a very good cosplay of Ahsoka -- so much so I wish she'd be offered first crack at the role in a live-action film. Having someone else portray her unless Ashley said no definitely is a bad idea.

So is anyone actually looking forward to season 7 of The Clone Wars? I think the Siege of Mandalore and all the shit with the Bad Batch will end up being pretty cool.
Not I. IMO, Filoni's version should have stayed over with the season 5 finale. Everything else released since then has watered down what was an emotionally-powerful finale.

I'm sure Disney will turn the Siege of Mandalore into just another SW battle. Given the emphasis on Ahsoka from what I heard about these episodes to come, they will probably have her capture Maul all by herself prior to Order 66 being executed just to reinforce the "Force is Female" mantra. I also think the Bad Batch arc may be upstaged by both Mandalore and the new emphasis on Ahsoka having a supposed lesbian lover and the latter's sister as tagalongs.

Tell me about it. I honestly don't like her either but what could possibly make them want to even consider this? I know Brie is an attention whore who won't shut up on social media about how much she desperately wants to be in SW, but I never thought it would lead to this.

My optimism is at an all time low, however I think the Bad Batch stuff will be enjoyable enough I guess since despite all its ups and downs, Filoni Wars episodes focusing on the clones were more enjoyable and violent than the ones focusing on the main characters, but I'm sure Disney will find a way to fuck it up or tone down the violence. I have zero faith in the Seige of Mandalore stuff though or the other arc being adapted based on what I've read concerning potential changes.

Speaking of Mandalorians, it seems that the one of the reasons they want to put emphasis on Mandalorians for the Mandalorian show the way they are isn't just because the Boba movie got canned and want an OC replacement, but because they desperately want to bring back the Fandalorians types who jumped ship after Disney (although some stuck around for that annoying Sabine character in Rebels), since they were a good source of positive shilling and dosh due to their status as the SW equivalent of Klingon freaks from ST. They're even bringing back Karen Traviss's Mando language and alphabet for the show which honestly just makes their attempts at trying to pander to that part of the fanbase again seem incredibly forced considering they threw out all that Mando-heavy Traviss lore years ago. I can only wonder how this will turn out considering the Fandalorians and Traviss lore were a pretty polarizing element within the fanbase of old. Then again, considering Jedi are effectively dead in the water and Luke Skywalker has been shamed to death, Traviss and Disney drones might get along fine and that's a scary thought. Then again I hope Fandofags are smart enough to avoid the obvious bait.

Isn't the mandalorean supposed to be just Star Wars mad max?

They have shit like the Raider AT-ST with scrap and shit strapped to it with weird paint.

Whether its only 'star wars mad max' depends on how much of the focus is going to be on the Mandalorian and his culture/people. Either they're going to go all in on it to snatch up the fandos or it'll just be background shit. As much as people hate on Travis (for good reason) there was some cool EU Mando shit that got thrown out by Disney too like Jaster, the True Mandalorians and the Galidraan Massacre and I'd like to see some of it brought back.

Lelouch was a really interesting protagonist because he was a hero that felt like a villain or a heroic villain if you will.

That would have been an interesting direction with Kylo Ren to make him pretty sympathetic, which the movies very vaguely flirt with, but the trouble is he's such a wiener, that ruins any potential for the character.

You directed Star Trek: Into Darkness JarJar, thus proving you can't close for shit. I can't see you finish a fucking wedding film, let alone your own shitty fanfic trilogy that ain't canon.

I didn't care for the show even before I realized that Filoni was a wolfaboo who is obsessed with his characters to the point where he ruins his own product to save them and then tries to force them down your throat in all media. Now I have anti-interest, as in my brain will forget that this shit is still going on when I leave this page.

Also I must be weird, because I actually like Kylo being kind of a weenie LARPing to be this bad-ass. The only problem is they aren't consistent with his character and fail to balance the sympathy with the dickery. Also they fucked up any chance for an arc or any form of pay-off beyond blue-balling the fujoshis.

Star Trek: Into Darkness was so fucking bad, easily one of the worst movies I saw in the theater in this decade, arguably even ever, because I can't think of another big Hollywood blockbuster I've seen with a story as nonsensical as it, I mean it was literally nonsensical.

I thought JJ had at one time potential to be a good director, but I should have known after Into Darkness the sequel trilogy would be shit.

You know, you have to give it to Disney, they know they have to retire their bland, boring characters from this trilogy, so they might be able to have another in the future. They also know they have to pull at their fan's heartstrings, so they go for that "Rey lives on that old farm and calls herself Skywalker" thing... but here's the deal:

If the leaks are true and Rey becomes a hermit and the force ghosts no longer exist and all that jazz, doesn't that mean that the Jedi have effectively ended?
Wouldn't it be funny if by trying to invoke memberberries and do some emotionally manipulative shit at the end, this movie actually validated Kylo and Jake Skywalker, when he said the Jedi would be dead and gone?

This whole fucking trilogy is such a mess, jfc.

Of course, Disney will pull out a forgotten Jedi Order from out of their ass. It'll be some ORIGINAL JEDI ORDER DO NOT STEAL wankfest, most likely some sort of Grey Jedi bullshit as I feared the ST would eventually become, but they need Jedi for their next retread of the OT in new clothes.

I find with most of these movies it's more the writing than the directing that's the problem.
It's beautifully filmed garbage. The actors are okay, too, for the most part. Daisy Ridley should take acting lessons though.
Going :O is not an acting method.

JJ's work on Star Trek: Into Darkness was ridiculous too.

CG company: "So you want the bad guy to have a ship?"
JJ: "A big ship."
CG company: "The Enterprise is already quite big, sir. Also a ship that huge only for 20 people that's weird"
JJ: "BIGGER and black. Completely black, because the ship was build for secret ops"
CG company: "T-that's not how it works. It's going to be hard to see it in every sho-"
JJ: "BIGGER and BLACK"

The idea of one of these Star Trek ships built specifically as a warship was actually one of the few things I liked about the movie, it was a cool idea, would have made for a good foil.

But it was buried in a sea of nonsensical story telling, not to mention the movie did NOT need to be a semi-remake of Wrath of Khan.

I agree, the movie didn't need Khan. They could've wrote this movie in a way that it would start a war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire and we could've seen the actual war in the third movie.
