Golden Age of being shit. They must feel proud, they got a franchise that at one point in time was unstoppable and turned it into the most pathetic series of agenda commercials that lack anything Star Wars.
Fucking C-class nothing characters like Iron Man and Thanos get more respect from the audience, and those movie versions don't even have the same amount of depth as the source material. Even those mass appeal versions get more respect. It's the darkest age of Star Wars.
What's sad is that there is no turning back, Disney will let it rest for 3 years maximum then just fucking try again and again and again and again and again but they will never get it right, they got 5 films to get it right and look the state of things.
I just can't comprehend how they could fuck up this hard, it's really something to be proud of, it's some fucking kind of record and will forever stain the legacy. Now the legacy is one full of weirdos and freaks, those nerds that complained about the prequels have been replaced by actual lunatics who don't even love the franchise.

Makes sense.
The dark age: When the movies were generally so well-received, they became an instant classic, beloved by many to such a degree that it inspired a decade-long loyalty to the brand.
The golden age: When the makers of the movies have to shut down any ciriticism with accusations of bigotry and the former audience falls either into braindead soy-addicts, who would pay money so others do their thinking and those that are harassed via a media machine paid by Disney.

KK already tanked the franchise and she hasn't hired a single woman director/writer yet. She's well aware of it and it's important for her to appease the people criticizing her for it. If she isn't out that will be the next priority, and lets face it there are maybe one or two women directors who can do this without turning into a fiasco. Can you imagine the director of "a wrinkle in time" being a strong contender because it's time to hire a diverse director

Under Kennedy LF managed to completely tank a brand that was thought of as unsinkable in only 4 years and according to rumors Disney has been riding her ass on ROS and micromanaging the hell out of it. And coincidentally Star Wars' planned hiatus just so happens to be the same length as the remainder of her contract and there's been persistent rumors that either JJ Abrams or more recently Kevin Feige will soon be in control of Lucasfilm.
Lifestyle brands are the new dot com bubble it seems.

It is my sole hope that they will hire some woman to direct an SW movie - and I really hope it'll be someone purely chosen to check off a few diversity checkmarks with absolutely no consideration for her experience, portfolio or even just the faintest contemplation about her actual skills.
I want Disney to pay a shitton of money for a movie made by a nobody purely based on her gender, have them pour money into marketing to boost the movie's image and then have them realize that the audience doesn't want their shitty product just cause it was made by someone with an uterus.
