I know this has been said on this thread before, but I think it bears repeating; Imagine experiencing infertility and struggling to have your own children, only to be told it'll never happen. So you go through the long, arduous adoption process, hopeful that you'll get a child you can pour all the love and affection you would have given a biological child into them instead. You imagine what they'll like and dislike, who they'll grow up to be, what their eventual partner will be like, if you'll ever have grandkids, etc.

And for the first few years, you're hopeful. The kid is maybe a bit weird, but understanding a bit of her backstory and the environment she was in, it's worth letting slide to you.

But then one day, you catch part of a conversation she's having online. It's... flirty. You dig a little more and realize it's a message to a 14-year-old girl.

Imagine putting all your hope into the future of someone you chose to bring into your family, only to find them grooming a few young teenagers by lying to them about being a celebrity's ghost, corralled by a woman in her late 30s who openly 'crushes on' and 'falls in love with' teenage boys herself.

I am taking all of 'Michelle's' health woes and suicide attempt with a grain of salt though. Not saying it ISN'T true, just reserving judgement.
