Vic did some English OPs for One Piece and Funimation is...Funimation. Not sure about much else because all I know of their dub is they take a while to do material and they have a lot of goodwill by way of not being 4Kids.

That's the equivalent of dunking on a musician because their song got sampled in this years #1 hot trashfire hit.

I'm baffled by this idiot's attempt to get a "gotcha" moment on ISWV. First of all, no one cares if the Japanese director liked the dub, just as how no one cares about your useless existence. I think FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD has very good to awesome English voice acting. Doesn't change the fact that some of the people involve are assholes or pieces of shit (Sabat, Tatum, Strait, Rial, Karbowski, etc.). Also, as @Moguro Fukuzou pointed out, it's the director promoting his own work through endorsement.

As for the ISWV people, they aren't trying to make Funimation look bad; your heroes at Flower Mound are already did an awesome job doing so by picking fights, calling them names, wishing rape, blocking critics, whining about Trump and Vic's GFM and badmouthing anyone for having a different opinion. Oh, and threatening them with Homeland Security. That's a plus too.

You know what they say, you can't spell "bullshit" without "BT".

Love Lex Lang as a VA, he got good range from a growl as WarGreymon, deep and sinister as Dr. Doom and funny and flamboyant as Dr. Cortex. Come to think of it he would be just as good as Goku Black.

Im not sure if anybody of that cast was at any dragon ball centered con in the last years. but well they are pretty much all well known VAs with bigger stuff than a short DB super dub.

Just FYI: Michele (Vic's ex) has stopped liking any and all tweets relating to him. She used to like quite aggressive anti Vic tweets ever since February. Some were archived here. She stopped about a week or two ago. Last thing I remember is her liking a tweet that told Vic to "stay dead" with a Broly gif attached. Not quite sure if she wants to move on or if people taking notice worried her.

Now she's liking "impeach Trump!" tweets, so not a big improvement.

Take the victories where we can get em.

Yeah, starting at 1:36:06, Nick is implying that Phlegmoine is acting like such a spaz that it's actually got some people out there thinking and there may be some developments next week. Also, in Texas, hearings from submission require the agreements of the parties, and that one party is of an opinion that it's not acceptable. So, yeah, can't wait to see what'll transpire.

Yeah, that sure is high praise.

Not that I think he hates the dub or anything, but Akira Toriyama also said similar things about Dragon Ball: Evolution when it first came out. He then later revealed he got involved with the new movies because he thought Evolution was that bad. Japanese professionals aren't exactly known for their public sperg outs like certain other Americans.

I would've thought the director was singing high praises about it if they're using it as bragging right. But it is the most milquetoast comment out there.

These should all be taken with a grain of salt since neither Underautist nor myself speak Japanese. It just seems like the director was happy they didn't radically change it and didn't have a similar experience to the Japanese producer watching the Evangelion remakes. Where fans where laughing at the movie because of the dub. That event is what caused Funimation to have to delay the release of the movie on home media and eventually lost them the rights and cause the heavy involvement by the Japanese on the English dub on Netflix. So yeah, congrats Funimation, you did the bare minimum required to not offend the very people making the movie you're milking.

Again, I don't speak Japanese. But to add to this even further, it seems like he thought he was gonna watch with subtitles or something and got the dub instead.
