Phil complained that people call Luigi's Mansion 'kiddie', and they need to accept that it is what he is playing and get over it. He then worked in a way to again call Fortnite 'kiddie' in the same sentence. It's like he HAS to be hypocritical. I understand compulsive lying, but the compulsive hypocrisy is what really defines this idiot.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, the computer lore was before my time, but did Phil not try to stream one game at 1080p/60fps, it lagged and he immediately declared PC unviable? I feel like it was really another one of his meme reactions when he doesn't want to do something. It didn't work once, or would require a modicum of effort to make work, and so he just refuses to try it again for the rest of time.

How is a waterfall funny? What is the joke? This man was the tip top of his class in high school. A waterfall is a joke apparently.

Okay. A critically acclaimed comedy is not funny, but a waterfall in a video game is laugh worthy. Now to be honest, I've never seen 'Bridesmaids', but I suspect it is at least a little bit funnier than a waterfall.

I don't care if he's lying. The notion of Phil suffering pleases me.

ETA: IIRC, it was also a notoriously unoptimized game at the time that much more comparatively powerful rigs struggled with running at max settings as well, to say nothing of streaming. He was also asschapped that part of the case was cracked, which is annoying but hurts performance not at all and can be fixed with a bit of paste, something kindergartners learn to use.

He has no rhetoric. Because he lives in a closed bubble, he never learned how to banter. He literally can't do it.
He has a job that demands some degree of commentary, yet he can't commentate. He lapses into bombastic idioms, repeating what he's just said several times, and doing a childish sing-songy vocalization to fill the negative space.

Most Lets Player's, you end up learning a lot about the persons life. You hear interesting stories about their childhood. They'll relate their failures, successes. The highs and lows. You know, the basic stuff that makes us human. Yet, despite over a decade of doing this, we know almost nothing about his life. And what we DO know, has been repeated ad nauseum, and there's zero consistency.

I'm under the impression that if DSP repeats whatever happens, it just happens to be HIS joke if he laughs at it. He can't have any work of fiction take away from his spotlight. He's the joker who makes people laugh because he simply acknowledges it. No one else can be funny except him.

Though the man doesn't have a funny bone in his body. He's not creative, witty, and original for that so he mimics what he sees. Like the kid in class who steals your joke right after you said it but no one heard you.

Any idea what happened at the end of 2016 that caused:

a) the number of patreons to surge - he seems to have gone from around 160 to 240 in a short amount of time.
b) the amount donated per patreon to dive. At the start of 2016 he was getting roughly $1400 from 160 patreons (around $9 each) to $1300 from 230 patreons (around $5.50 per patreton). I'd assume the drop in revenue from each patreon was the result of one (or several) whales abandoning ship at the same time, though it's odd that almost immediately after this drop, he ends up with far more people donating (albeit not as generously).

There have been so many fucking arcs since 2016 that I can't remember if this correlates with any meltdowns/reeemergencies, so apologies if it's something dead obvious.

My favorite thing about charts of Phil's metrics (Patreon, YouTube views, etc) is they all have the same slant as his hairline.

With Phil's Nioh playthrough resulting in over 300+ deaths, an additional 130+ on the 1st DLC, and ultimately a rage quit on the 2nd boss, Date Masamune, I'm really really excited for the release of Nioh 2.

I love Nioh to death and back, but there's something so satisfying about watching him get bodied over and over again because he refused to use the plethora of tools and mechanics that they provide, only used mid-stance spear with next to no ki pulse, and only had a Body stat of 20; which is the stat that increases life AND spear damage. To quote the master himself:

"I beat the game with this build and I don't wanna respec, ok? It's fucking bullshit! CUM AHN!"

Translation: he found the "easy mode" build of vanilla Nioh and then refused to change a single thing once he got absolutely rekt by the first DLC boss resulting in accumulating 1/3 of his original deaths on that boss alone.

I'm hyped on multiple levels.

Liked the first Nioh but I found it too long or more precisely at 80 odd hours: the game didn't have nearly enough unique enemy types to support that much content and said content itself involved repeating the same stages too often as side missions.

Been trying the beta here and I'm a bit put off by the direction they seem to be taking with the Yokai form/Dark realm stuff. Seems to me they yanked out Living Weapon in favor of a system they're going to force you to use to pad the difficulty when it suits them. Halving your ki in the dark realm and its junk recovery time needs fixing imo.. they're actively putting you off the fundamentals of the game for a new system that doesn't even feel satisfying to use and burst counter timing needs better audio/visual cues.. did they not pay attention at all to what Sekiro was doing there?

That being said it has a character creator so Phil can make himself yet again as he gets wrecked all day and ragequits so that's fine. All the same they did take a lot of feedback on board, nerfed and tidied up a lot from the Alpha in the first game so they may do it again and we'll get a bit more of a forgiving experience by the time it comes out. However you slice it being one-shot by even the weakest enemies is quite silly. Unless it's happening to DSP anyways.
