Notice anything? Remember when in the Easter special of Charlie Brown Christmas decorations up in April was meant to be a joke? Or how Tim Burton getting the idea for the nightmare before Christmas happened when a store was switching the Halloween decorations out for Christmas ones after Halloween?

Don't get me wrong I don't hate Christmas but I seriously think this getting way out of hand

I'm sick of the greedy money-grab that Christmas has become. I want to have Halloween first, goddamnit. I want to have autumn before having Christmas stuffed down my throat like a tinsel-decorated dick.

REEEEEEEEEEE

I think @Null was right to ban Christmas Avatars till the end of the month 🤔

I assure you that malls going into full Christmas mode the second after Halloween is over was already a thing in the 1980s, if not much earlier.

Back in the days when Consumers Distributing stores were still a thing that existed in Canada, we got the catalogue full of toys in August.

Personally the winter months are my favorite in the year. I like the cold, and the quiet it brings. I don't love Christmas starting early, but if it makes people happy and excited for something who cares? (I live in a very depressed area).

The only thing I'm bothered by is this "30 Days of Countdown to the 30 Days of Christmas." My mother is keeping tabs on it, and the Hallmark Christmas movies are already marching out.

Yeah perhaps, those specials and store displays never really do much to change how people feel after getting jaded to the charm of Christmas

Fuck me, a kindred spirit.

You ever just take a stroll in the late hours with powdery snow fluttering in the air with close to no wind and every footstep in your sight is just you? It's the fucking best. It's like every other human being is finally fucking dead like they should be.

Christmas just ruins a good lighting.

The last time I watched television (years ago) some channel had Christmas in July, why? I am not really into celebrating or religion, so I do not feel any need to designate one day as special from the misery of existing that is the 364 other days of the year.

I like walking out a ways into the darkness and embracing the silence for a while. Just me, the dark, the snow, and the stars. The nice part is coming back to a lowly lit house that's warm. When I was younger my parents wondered why they'd wake up and see prints in the snow. I'd be out walking around at 10 or 11 the night before.

WAAAAAAAAAAAT. Is this a joke?
This, to be specific. My mom made a calendar for what movies would be on before the 25 Days of Christmas, so she called it the Countdown to the Countdown to Christmas. They have Christmas movies throughout November to build up to the real countdown.

Finally someone understands true beauty and magic.

I like the Winter do you know why? It's like death. Misunderstood because it's such a dark, cold and inevitable fact of life. But under the darkness and fear there's a quiet peacefulness nothing else can bring. Like the world is sleeping and letting time slow down to rest and get ready for new beginnings

As an anti-social goblin, I do not encounter anything too christmassy until I get home to my parents around the 23rd.
