It can also be believing you're thinner than you really are, although that is less common on women. Mariah was never really thin, at best she was "thick" for a little while according to old pictures of her before ballooning.

Who's have thought it. When a professional does her hair, her makeup, when she's wearing clothes that cover her horrible body up, and when she's on a set that isn't the spot in front of her ikea paper screens that 80% of her photos take place in.... she can be semi-presentable.
( She basically paid a few hundred dollars to sweat into a replica kimono. Admittedly, the photos and costumes this place seems to produce are lovely, but for someone who's supposed to be a professional model and cosplayer, this seems super cheap. And of course she went with the oiran package. Oirans were basically the thots of the geisha world. Geishes performed in public and slept with men on the down low. Oirans just got fucked. )

Jesus fucking Christ moomoo. Despite what you think from watch memoirs of a geisha, they weren't prostitutes nor did they show off their shoulders, most of the kimonos that they wore are actually plain and doesn't look like a silk waterfall, nor did they wear head accessories that elaborate unless they were just starting off (and they were children). Nor did they were shitty smokey red eyeshadow. Also they painted their faces straight up white.
Like Rabbit Bones said, while geishas did fuck their patrons sometimes, they we're more concerned with the performance arts such as singing dancing, and playing instruments. Not looking like a cheap Japanese hooker that I would find in the Edo-era's version of Kabukicho. If you are going to do a geisha photoshoot at least try to look like one, fatso.
Also that shit-eating grin that she has in the last photo irks me for some reason. Maybe it's because of that massive schnoz.
