It's probably been said before, but best case, and most likely, scenario is someone associated with him is already prepared to call Adult Protective Services on him, maybe even before Barb croaks. He becomes a ward of the state and gets put into a group home, or supervised apartment. I've seen plenty of speds and autists in group homes that were less divorced from reality than Chris. They'll try to dump him off on any possible family first, but the tugboat means he's already in the system. And in that case the smaller the town or more rural and gentrified the area the better. Crazies don't fall through the cracks quite as bad in small towns. The shrinks might not be there, but the group housing is.

Honestly, if anything is proof that Chris might have legit gender dysphoria, I think it would be that incident above all else.

The motivation behind it is important though. Chris cut his taint open because, for a month or more prior, he had been believing, pretty sincerely, that he had a vagina growing in. He believed it was going to burst open like a flower. He believed he felt a lump in his crotch that he asserted was his clitoris. This sort of insanity precludes dysphoria. Chris doesn't have a discomfort with his gender, Chris is disconnected from reality entirely.

In fact, I don't think Chris is capable of medically consenting to HRT treatment because of this. In order to consent to medical treatment, you need to be able to realistically understand the nature of the treatment. Chris is too bonkers for that.

No part of the state gives a shit about Chris's circumstances. When Bob was at his most frail and feeble and vulnerable there was an insect infestation that resulted in him being covered in bug bites. Medical professionals and Chris's pastoral counsellor were made aware of this, and I'm sure any number of weéns reported it to any number of local authorities, as this occurred at the height of Chris's online infamy. Nothing happened.

Chris and Barb's negligence created a safety hazard so severe that a massive fire broke out. Investigators and insurance employees had to visit the hoard and experience their mess first hand. Still nothing happened.

Chris and Barb haven't even been trying to fly under the radar. They're always in and out of court for any number of stupid reasons. The entire system collectively shrugs and shakes its head and sends them on their way back to the comfort of the hoard.

As long as Chris wants to remain independent and steers clear of truly severe legal trouble, the state is going to leave him alone.

I understand that outlook. And I could definitely see Chris trying to live alone after Barb's death and going through a period of decline up to the point he loses the house. But when he loses the house I don't see him wandering around in Ruckersville homeless. As you said, he's too notorious in the community. And if someone calls APS after Barb dies, I'm not convinced Chris would be able to prove he's that capable.

I do wonder how much 'the state' sees Barb as a 'responsible adult' because it's easier and gets Chris off their case. The state will let 'responsible adults' like Barb and Bob completely trash their lives and health, while still shunting people labeled exceptional into the system. I don't think they care, but I wonder how low on the functioning scale he's listed.

He'll go off the rails after Barb kicks it, and I really do think he'll end up in a group home eventually.

The thing is that once that creepy rapist Sockness has his way with Chris, he'll get bored with him and go back to his pretend voodoo rituals or whatever the fuck he's into. Chris will be cast aside once Sockness is tired of playing with him. Yet another chapter of Chris' life of being used and abused by people.
