Forgive me, but I've missed this part of the DSP lore.

So, we know DSP is awake until 2 am local time at least because he's still tweeting then.

So why doesn't he play hyped new AAA releases at midnight? Especially since he's so concerned about those Day 1 Views?
If I remember correctly it’s because he doesn’t want to wake Kat up from all his epic gamer moments

Cause he's a live shtreemer, dood. When he would play those AAA games at midnight for day 1 views, day 1 inflated views...that was when he was on YouTube. And, as we all know, YouTube is just an archive anymore. He makes negative money on YouTube. When will you learn that he's a LIVE SHTREEMER? It takes a major toll on his dumpy body to do live, reactionary style commentary, and he has to be on his A-game to entertain the masses on his first shtreem. Tip me.

reactionary style commentary,

That's always bugged me. Like, wtf, what other kind of commentary would there be on a game you're playing.

Annoys me as much as someone that tried to tell me they are "Agnostic atheist" and for the life of them couldn't understand why that was kind of impossible. Like being a vegan-omnivore.

Billy Mitchell gets shit for losing all his world records. In reality he could kick all of our asses in Pac-man.

Phil constantly loses Street Fighter matches.

Billy is a meme and lost his records, but he still can get to the kill screen an whoop anyone else at Pac-man. Phil can win maybe 20% of his matches.

Who is the better gamer?

"Agnostic atheist" and for the life of them couldn't understand why that was kind of impossible.
[off topic] the way most people use it now a days agnostic means they don't know, and atheist means they don't believe. in other words, i don't know if X is real or not so i choose to not believe.[on topic]

Welcome to hell, Phil. Enjoy your stay.

7+ hours of cutscenes with a 90 minute ending confirmed. If he steamrolls the main story he may finish in 40 hours. Terrain where you'll be using trucks and bikes is often peppered with rocks that will in fact "come outta nowhere" when you gots the ginvisor on like Phil. The combat is however not difficult at all and stealth is pretty easy which is a bit of a shame since our boy has a knack for being quite horrendous any time it's required. Look out for deep snow environments where it's easier to lose your footing and even easier still for Phil to rage that it's too bright for his fragile hermit peepers.

On the plus side you can make Norman Reedus take a dump at home and pee out in the wild so that should be recycled about 17 times for authentic reactionary khamedy. Troy Baker is also in there who Phil seems to hate because he likes to wear scarves irl. We'll also get early access to the realities of Phil as a parent in seeing how many times he lets his baby get autotoxemia and goat laugh everytime he has to use motion controls (which he also hates) to soothe BB before it tells him he's a moron and he wants to pimp slap the shit out of it.

All in seems like it could be tailored to a good (hot trash tier) playthrough.

How's he gonna lug that stuff all over the place without his trusty hand cart?

I think it's funny that Phil always says his commentary is reactionary, because it's basically admitting he has nothing actually interesting to say. A good LPer would know the games they play well and have plenty of anecdotes, info about how mechanics work, their strategy or approach to the game, etc to fill any downtime. Phi just goat laughs at regular intervals. Even when he plays a game he knows really well like the old Street Fighters, he very rarely gives any deep insight into the mechanics or strategy.

He also relies on everyone else in the shtreem chat to interact (cheerssubsandtips) with him. He's not the one to entertain, it's the other way around. For someone who is so hellbent on this "interactive experience," one would think he'd take even a miniscule amount of initiative and ask even simple, stupid questions to his chat, even just to generate SOME sort of activity. Instead, he stares at his TV in a purely gormless fashion, and then gets atomic ass-pain when chat isn't talking to him (cheerssubsandtips) and wage quits a shtreem for the night.

The only mechanics he's aware of are bugged, don't work for him because nothing works for him, have lag tactics associated with them, but you should still tip him.

The ending is "only" 30 or 40 minutes. Not sure why these inflated numbers keep getting tossed around.

. . .and just started playing. He is going to HATE this game. It'll be nothing but glorious.

I tuned in 2 minutes ago to listen to Maximillan_Dood try to explain the point of the baby/fetus and connection to the dead and what Death Stranding is, and he sounds utterly lost.

I can't imagine DSP giving a shit about the plot of this game.
I mean, it'd be easier to list the media that does have plot he cares about. Wrestling and, uh...Dragon Ball? Maybe? He hams it up and clowns through cutscenes of every game he plays, whether he's played it before or not.

That this is a Kojima joint (and one in which he had far more creative freedom than his previous games) just makes it oil to Phil's water. With everything I've read and seen about this game I can't imagine there will be a single thing he likes about it.

DSP is going to be utterly lost and this playthrough is going to be unbearable.

DSP needs handholding in Luigi's Mansion.

It's going to be four straight hours of "I don't know what I'm supposed to do; the game didn't explain."

Edit: This game just dumps game mechanics and exposition into your brain. This playthrough is going to be unbearable.

Friendly warning to @LyteSydeByll and Tevin: just stay out of this one. There will be no entertainment even trying to MST3K/Riff it.

My personal opinion is that this looks like the type of game you will enjoy much more on the second playthrough when you actually know what to do and what is happening. It's also very obvious a lot of thought was put into this game, but it also looks like everything is overcomplicated just for the sake of being overly complicated.

I'm debating getting the game just for the Kojima sticker tbh.

Some part of me hopes this is Phil's Rain Man moment and he absolutely obliterates the game with perfection minmaxing and utter mastery of the mechanics.

Played about 2 hours now, he's gonna be real cringy during the kahpyright music parts, lots of "lalala" and clowning up. God forbid he doesnt get some YT shekels.

I didn't even think about that.

Is there a way to mute the music? If not, that will be the first complaint. Game is stupid because it's costing him money.
