Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Stimming is not really a deliberate behaviour. Add in the fact that some behaviours (tapping feet, fidgeting) are common amongst everybody and you've got a nice munchie hashtag you can put in your Twitter bio in lieu of a personality.

Stim dancing is a much, much different thing in the area that I work in.

Not autism, more meth.

Guys the 'I want to punch paige in the face' posts are very MATI. Her superbug aren't hurting anyone but her and who knows, she may help advance medical science when they autopsy her.

Re: Punching isn't about being MATI just that her expression and nose together look punchable lol.

But re: Not hurting anyone. I've considered this actually and she's in and out of the hospital potentially infecting people she comes in contact with including children and actually sick people because she kept fucking with her own lines. Like if you wanna kill yourself painfully ok whatever but do we truly think this chick does any kind of isolation or even general hand washing considering what we know of her.

I honestly have wondered if she hasn't tried to purposely infect others too. Because she's batshit insane.

As much as I love IFGW I will never get over the fact that the redditors do not think I know that I am an asshole who says things that are not very nice. Bruh you're on a forum for discussing her private chat logs, medical records, and social media posts. Sugar coat it all you want, Regina George, this is still mean girl behavior.

In other news, this is one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever read. The handwringers in chat are trying to get Amanda to admit she lied about everything as she is now backpedaling and claiming some of her lies weren't lies, and being confronted by the fact that she told different lies who different people who then talked to each other in a space she didn't control.

But in the midst of that ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ FACEBOOK MESSENGER IS DOWN ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ ‼⚠MAJOR TW⚠‼ I AM HAVING A SEVERE PANIC ATTACK.

Watching Ren's end has been very amusing and interesting honestly. I just wonder why it took them this long to realize she's a lying liar who lies.

This is overly dramatic. We have nothing to show Paige wants to hurt anyone but herself. She's not some cartoon villain spreading super aids. We're here to laugh at people playing sick, not make up things about them so we can clutch our pearls and pretend we're better than them.

Mysteryelles tells us it takes roughly 3* months of wearing a cervical collar to cause diagnosable craniocervical instability and surgery in just under a year. Congrats! Hope surgery is super fun!

edit: brain broken/ does not compute

It was a joke said tongue in cheek because of the issues I mentioned earlier. How she doesn't try to contain her tubes and gross leaking abscesses and stuff. You're taking things a bit seriously here it seems.

Yikes. I can't even imagine being in a cervical collar that long. Do you think they only wore it for photos and when they needed it for points or legitimately did it all the time? How long a day would you have to wear one for how long to really get that kind of instability?

It takes 6 weeks without use to atrophy a muscle. She says after starting wearing the brace it took her took 3 months to get her CCI diagnosis (dec to march) so more or less that’s about 12-14 hours a day for three months.
And now every munchie will have CCI in 3 months since All they need is an amazon brace to induce it with our instructions (except Barfydoll BeCuaSe she has no self control and sarah Jean who will probs screw it up and be given physical therapy before she gets CCI)

I don't know how long it takes, but this is exactly why people shouldn't buy braces off Amazon and wear them for extended Larps. Cervical collars suck when you have to wear them even for short periods, so I can't believe these idiots do this. aaaand ninja'd!

This is what is irritating me about the current munchie trend to be in a neck brace constantly. Bracing is an important management strategy for true hEdS, but as I’ve mentioned before, 2-4 hours of static bracing per day should be all that is used absent a radiography indicating need for immediate fusion: spondylolisthesis or dislocation. It should also be used in addition to proper pt. Current protocol states that NO static bracing (without hinges for joints) should be used in EDS on a long term basis for this exact reason.

It irritates me because people who are not munchies may possibly find these accounts and think they need these types of things and end up going down the path and end up like the non-munchie travelinghaloofhope.

This got posted on IFGW tonight and it is beautiful.

Yes, this idiot claims multiple diseases that would cause her to be a vegetable but has to e-beg for a wheelchair because insurance won't cover it. I am in love.

Hello here is your cheat sheet of what this asshat claims, so you do not have to commence the googlin':

chiari malformation: brain no fit in skull. Common enough but usually causes few issues. Overdiagnosed amongst the insta-munch set.

Raynaud's: very common, often idiopathic, becoming popular amongst munchies.

CFS: only if none of her other disorders cause fatigue, so no.

Rosacea: super common, not harmful.

semantic pragmatic disorder: umbrella term for children who have a certain set of speech difficulties. with her other Dx's, this is like saying "I have EDS and my joints are hypermobile"

SMA: muscle weakness, difficulty controling movements. What that "squirmy and grubs" dude has.

Osteogenesis imperfecta: brittle bone disease lol.

Lupus: it's never lupus. Since she's not specifying I'll assume she means SLE which would account for/negate the rosacea if true. My guess is the rosacea is real and she started claiming it was a malar rash from lupus.

Fibromyalgia: may or may not be a dx of exclusion based on who you talk to, and may or may not be psychosomatic, but generally if you have another joint pain disorder you won't get a fibro dx.

EDS/POTS/MCAS: we know these

GERD/gastritis: go together like birds of a feather. Take a ppi and quit your bitching.

Gastroparesis: GERD/gastritis can cause all the apparent symptoms of GP except the slow motility. But if she has GP it explains the reflux and stomach inflammation. So there's that.

Autism/OCD/PTSD: the usual "gimme a service dog" combo

Failure to thrive: diagnosed in infants and small children. Self-infantalization at its finest.

Keratosis pilaris: that oh-so-dangerous bumpy skin disease. There's lotions at the drug store that will fix this.

ODD: oppositional-defiant disorder, neuropsych condition of children that makes them hostile and argumentative. May persist into adulthood.

Eczema: itchy skin patches. Again, there's lotions for this. Gonna guess this is the third thing she's attributing the rash on her face to.

Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy: brain damage from oxygen/blood starvation to the brain at birth. What happens when the babby has the umbilical cord wrapped tightly around its neck. Varies in severity from "full recovery" to "potato". Can cause widespread damage to other organs as well.

CP: often caused by hypoxic-ischemic episode.

TBI: can cause all sorts of things depending on severity.

Epilepsy: seizures are with a lot of the other diseases she claims.

intellectual disability: see above

IBS: another dx of exclusion where if you have anything else that can cause these symptoms you won't be diagnosed with it.

Chronic migraines: common, especially common in people with TBI or epilepsy.

Dyslexia: funny how she can spell all these complicated medical terms right ain't it?

Dysgraphia: difficulty writing

Dyscalculia: difficulty with numbers

Dyspraxia: difficulty coordinating movements. Again, these things are not treated as standalone conditions if something else like CP explains them.

Attention Deficit Disorder: All sorts of things like TBI and epilepsy can mimic ADD symptoms.

Down syndrome: fucking. LOL.

Cortical visual impairment: visual impairment when the underlying cause is in the brain not the eyes.

Strabismus: eyes aren't aligned properly. Super common, treatable with glasses or eye patches usually, surgery if necessary.

Astigmatism: blurry vision because the cornea is shaped funny. Super common.

Convergence insufficiency: a type of strabismus.

Gluten intolerance: would rule out IBS, debated whether this is really a thing outside of Celiac/actual allergies or whether it's psychsomatic.

GAD: anyone with this level of impairment would be anxious imo

Hyperlordosis: excessive curve in the lower part of the spine. can be caused by all sorts of things from bad posture and weak core muscles, to neuromuscular conditions of which she claims several.

Congenital hypothyroidism: inadequate thyroid hormones in newborn, caused by absent or dysfunctional thyroid. Fixed with hormone replacement.

Auditory processing disorder: difficulty understanding spoken language. Common, varies in severity, goes along with some of the other things she claims.

Mixed sleep apnea: stops breathing while asleep from both her brain not sending the signals to breathe properly and some kind of obstruction in her airway

Juvenile arthritis: like regular arthritis but for kids. Doesn't specify what kind.

Cervical stenosis: narrow brain stem canal in the neck, can cause all kinds of degenerative nerve issues

Holoprosencephaly: holy shit, this is the fucking cyclops defect. Literally claiming her brain didn't separate properly during development. In the least severe forms, she'd still be close to potato.

Neurogenic bladder: issues going pee pees from nerve damage

Common variable immunodeficiency: low immune function

Osteoporosis: common if not doing any weight bearing exercise/not eating right/not going outside

Tarsal tunnel: compression of nerves in feet

small fiber neuropathy: burning nerve pain in hands and feet especially, caused by nerve issues

Benign paroxymal vertigo of childhood: bouts of dizziness for unknown reasons. In order to get this dx you can't have any other neurological condition that would cause it.

Vocal cord dysfunction: tightening of vocal cord muscles in response to a trigger. May be triggered by gerd or a cold.

Mito complex II: mitochondrial disease, can cause an enormous array of problems from fatal respiratory disease of infancy to muscular problems in old age.

PKU: phenylketonuria, can't metabolize phenylalanine. managed by diet avoiding foods high in phenylalanine (chicken, fish, eggs, beans, etc). if not treated causes brain damage and all sorts of crap

Sickle cell: malformed/misshapen red blood cells cause lower O2 levels. Autosomal recessive and basically only happens in people of African descent. Both of her parents would have to be carriers (or have it) in order for her to inherit it.

Tracheomalacia: her trachea is flaccid.

layrngomalacia: her layrinx is also flaccid

Noonan syndrome: causes mild facial defects, a slightly webbed neck, bleeding/clotting disorders, heart defects as well as a bunch of the other random conditions she has listed here. Common, but not often severe. Usually one of the parents has it too.

bronchomalacia: her bronchial tubes are also flaccid. If her immune system sucked she'd be dead from any number of respiratory bullshit with this list.

Retinitis pigmentosa: progressive blindness, can go along with other conditions listed as part of a larger syndrome

Nermaline myelopathy: yet another degenerative nerve disease. With this many degenerative nerve diseases she'd be Stephen Hawking-tier paralyzed

Amelogenesis imperfecta: defect of tooth enamel, makes teeth prone to wear and breakage

Cornelia de Lange: another disease that causes intellectual disability as well as short stature and facial defects.

digeorge syndrome: 22q11.2 deletion. Causes intellectual disability, facial defects, short stature, and low immune system.

Rubenstein taybi syndrome: Again. Intellectual disability, facial defects, short stature, as well as heart and kidney disease and eye and tooth defects.

Angelman Syndrome: Intellectual disability, severe speech impairment, balance and movement problems.

So she's an sideshow-freak-ugly midget potato who can't walk, talk, move her limbs independently, breathe, fight off an infection, see, hear, chew, swallow, metabolize most foods, behaves like a chimpanzee, has glass bones, can't feel her limbs, kidneys are melting, joints constantly dislocate, allergic to everything, and she has bad skin.

OP also said she started trying to claim the beetus and "atypical CF" before she collected this outrageous list of diagnoses and also claims to have both cEDS and hEDS. Now she's begging for a service dog. I wish she would just release the handle but redditors will be redditors.
Downs would exclude Noonan
Noonan would exlude EDS & Cornelia de Lange

Plus about a billion other problems with the list, but in case anyone isn't as familiar with Noonan since it isn't as common. It's also hella easy to spot a Noonan neck visially.

Remember when we used to toss everyone with MS into a wheelchair and then they deconditioned? Mysterious stuff, that.

IFGW is great but the more people that end up there from IF the more cringey it gets . There seems to more and more competition for who is the sickest person there that totally justifies the no powerleveling rule that most adhere to .

I remember mysteryelles posting about either Amazon or the manufacturer saying they were not going to replace her neck brace again because they are not meant to be worn 24/7 indefinitely under warranty. That should have been a clue but no she probably thought they were being ableist or something. Gee if you are wearing out that many...

As much as I love the content on IFGW, I can't forgive the dumb amounts of power leveling over there.

Comments full of asspats on the sickness Olympics.

Don't worry guys, it's ironic.

Post is old as shit, but I wanted to jump at the opportunity to lol at this.
I got so much secondhand embarrassment from this, haha. One single emergency room selfie pulling a common pose doesn’t make someone OTT, but posting it in that reddit with that caption sure as hell does. :story:

I follow someone on twitter who definitely seems like she has a legitimate disability but she's also extremely OTT and always begging for money and started her own fb group and she's just.....weird

There is SO much to unpack I'm not sure where to start?

Has been in the hospital since August because she was suicidal (btw she claims trans too but that's a brand new over the last few months thing) She's homeless and the hospital 'wants to kick her out' was fundraising for money for a place to live. Now is fundraising for lawyer fees against the hospital

Untitled.png

Hospital neglected her and took her phone (btw when they took her phone she was still ranting on facebook left and right but all of those were deleted as soon as people started questioning her)

Has a Gofundme for 'Justice for Falum'

She only came out as trans after all this crazy hospital shit started happening and she started 'fundraising' again. Her 8th fundraiser in a year. Most of them have vanished now though

Untitled3.png

She's trying to fundraise for her step father too
Untitled5.png

But WAIT! She's also fundraising because she's going to have to live with her transphobic parents and someone outed her! So here's her third fundraiser
Untitled7.png

But WAIT! She's also going to school?
Untitled4.png

This is the weirdest fucking person I've ever followed. She's been on my radar for 2 1/2 years now and she's gone through 15 fundraisers in that time. Someone is always dying and she's always in danger. ALWAYS. She does appear to currently be in the hospital from her videos. But.....this story is weird right All the fundraising is weird right?

oh and on October 11 she had a tumor removed? But nothing on her twitter about it?
Untitled8.png

Just about everyone being transphobic and ablist and honestly......this is a strange strange person.

Going back on her twitter half of it has vanished too? Has anyone else seen this chick?

Wow, chick is cray. Has she actually made any money from her fund raisers? Lots of sirens going off just reading her comments.

Her Gofundme currently is currently at $648. One of the gofundme's for her step-father she raised about $960. Now she's amassing a larger following than she's ever had on twitter and I think it's just the beginning of her insane story
