That's a great, concise post about how Something Awful promotes a nihilistic crabs-in-a-bucket mentality, where you're too afraid to speak up against anyone's shit for fear of being made fun of and ostracized.

Though I hope he doesn't join another like-minded forum full of nihilistic chicken littles who think Trump's gonna kick down their doors and eat their faces.

They've literally worked themselves into insanity over Donald Trump. They don't understand that the problems in their lives would have been identical under Clinton, and their personal failings and misery are entirely their own doing. They're like children who have pushed themselves into nihilistic despair because their favorite sports team lost the big game: it doesn't affect them, but it feels important. It's the same sort of nihilism that was seen in people who are convinced the cold war would go nuclear, or the people who were convinced the Rapture would happen in their lifetimes. An excuse to give up on life, give up on themselves, and convince themselves that their failings don't matter because all these other suckers who are trying to better themselves are going to end up just as dead as him, the goon who never bothered to try.

But more than that, who goes to a fucking comedy site to make themselves miserable? If there's nothing fun about being on SA, then for fuck's sake, stop going on SA. You're not accomplishing anything by going to a dying internet forum except for letting Richard Kyanka avoid having to get a job.
