The more likely scenario is that SA will die first and having no income, no job, no prospects, no place for easy (and mandatory) online validation/adulation, and literally nothing remotely positive in his life will kick his downward spiral into overdrive and result in him ODing rather than him ODing and that causing SA's death.

If he did die prior to SA, though, I'd imagine whoever is the fagmin/front page writer with the longest tenure would take over and SA writ large would hold some kind of memorial fundraising drive to try to fund SA for several months/years in advance. He is absolutely a depressed lump, but that’s just another reason it’s easy to self-medicate with pain killers. The spine crumbling to dust is the way he rationalizes this shit to people IRL, which is par for the course. Most pill heads claim a super awful back or other ailment.

Lowtax isn’t stupid. He knows anything leaking out about drug abuse would doom his free money gravy train and have endless concern trolling about rehab. He's pretty much admitted to doing drugs and hitting the sauce hella hard for years. See: this post from 2014 asking goons to come over and do drugs and get drunk with him to celebrate the SA office closing.



Whether those drugs are (let alone were at the time of that post) opioids is up for debate, though he'd be far, FAR from the first to get hooked on pills after a major, invasive surgery.

He definitely does (or did) Ambien recreationally, as confirmed by multiple ex-friends who rolled over on him over the years; Shmorky's ex did, for example; and while she's schizophrenic, she maintained that he uses it even while she was medicated and stable... plus "my ex's boss pops Ambien for fun" is not the sort of detached-from-reality delusion associated with schizophrenia.

Finally, most addicts don't try to advertise their addiction. For some it's easier than for others, but Lowtax is *incredibly* isolated and basically only sees his very immediate family. The only pics of his day to day life come from them, and are easy to keep a lid if he doesn't like what's in them. The kids probably have no idea, or if they do know daddy pops pills, probably accept that it's for "his back". Maplewife ain't saying shit because of the legal stuff on the horizon. Shmorky lives in a trailer in the middle of the woods, as far as I know, and ain't saying shit. Chinkwife found Jesus and probably doesn't feel like sperging about the dude she was married to a decade ago's pill habit (that probably didn't even exist when they were married)... if she even knows. Simple depression doesn't cover all Lowtax's actions. I do agree depression is a factor in his behavior, and is likely what sent him down the path. Dude is very clearly addicted to SOMETHING (I mean a chemical substance; we all know he's addicted to 20-something girls with BPD and low self-esteem)

Simply depressed people don't keep begging for money they effectively steal; they are usually too deep in the dark hole to bother soliciting funds. And when they do, and are given an outpouring like Lowtax routinely gets from retards on his forum, are usually overly profuse with thanks and gratitude; plenty of "wows" and "I'm just overwhelmed" as their depression is temporarily lifted and without the crushing burden of their own dark thoughts they feel amazing. Lowtax has yet to give more than a half-assed thanks to the community that is his sole form of income; only addicts are so entitled they believe support is owed to them; when they get it they are only concerned about getting "well" ASAP, and after getting well they are only focused on making sure they've secured their next fix - it is nearly impossible to be grateful except for that brief moment when the drug is hitting their system.

Coming off years long opoid addiction is hell even if you are working with a doctor and slowly reducing your dosage. If Lowtax tries to quit cold turkey, he won't be able to do it. He is too weak willed. I can't see him being willing to endure the horrible withdrawal symptoms that last for several months.
