Funnily enough, I showed a few friends that tweet as a sign of ridiculousness, and one of them got annoyed at me because by pointing out the stupidity I was 'promoting transphobic bullying'.

Shouldn't you wait until they've learned who these people are in history class before you start talking about stuff like this? It's not like kids are going to understand or even care about this stuff. I don't care who is on the coin or bill. It spends the same no matter what. And eventually, we'll probably all be using digital currency anyway since we print and mint money on a fractional reserve system and it would reduce the cost to artificially add more currency if you don't have to produce physical money.
The US should really just rename itself. That way, all of the old sins can be blamed on the previous country which no longer exists. And taking a page from the troon handbook, we can just shame anyone who brings up the past and "deadnames" us. I admit that is an exceptional plan, but so is trying to teach first graders about sexism, racism, and white supremacy on the currency.

I keep thinking back to that South Park episode where the boys didn't even realize the flag was racist because they didn't see black and white. I also think back to Morgan Freeman making that same argument that children learn racism and that society should stop talking about it - good or bad - so that the next generation has no concept of it. Shit like this defeats its purpose and will only stoke the flames of resentment.
