I know people like to give Ross a pass for what has happened to him recently, but at this point I hope someone convinces him that enabling the Grumps' terrible decisions is not a good idea.

If the "game grumps" book from the CAA deal is actually gonna be this shit, do you think they could get in trouble? The author is Arin's uncle and the plot/characters having nothing to do with GG.

Honestly it's pretty damn funny how nonchalant Arin is over this. A storm is brewin'.

What really makes this stupid is the fact that they would sell more books if they didn't do this marketing ploy. People who don't like Game Grumps won't buy it because it has the Game Grumps name attached on it. Fans of Arin and Dan won't buy it because they want a book written by them and not one of their uncles. And people who haven't heard of Game Grumps won't buy it because the description on Amazon is written like a 3rd grade book presentation written 5 minutes before it was due.

Honestly I have to say I’m fine with all of this. I mean...doesn’t seem well-executed because Arin isn’t funny, but if it was Sam Hyde or Pewds doing this shit everyone would be calling it brilliant.

I’m personally all for more misdirection, trickery, and just straight-up lying on the internet.

I doubt that. Pewds already got people on his back about saying the Nigger word, if he pulled shit like this it would be social suicide and while I'm not familiar with Sam Hyde, the same would also apply to him. A scummy action is still hated by many no matter how popular and beloved you are.

And given all this is pre-order stuff, plenty of cancellations after learning they were played for saps (some will find it amusing and buy the book, anyway - but a good portion will back out).
