The thing that originally got me onto SA was reading some of Humper Monkey (a now dead GIP poster)'s stories. Whether they were real or tall tales, they were really entertaining.

Sadly telling stories like that doesn't happen on the forums anymore; goons will shit up any remotely similar thread as they trip over each other to call the story out as fake.

This was back in the early 2000s long before the forums became pozzed.

I remember getting a wild hair due to boredom at work about five years ago and went back to SA. I noticed that any sort of effort post OP was entirely gone from GBS. Almost every thread was a lame one sentence joke OP, followed by boring two and three word shit posting for pages. Any sort of effort-OP got totally trashed and mocked for said effort. I couldn't understand how this had become the default style in GBS because it was borning af and not funny. Was pretty much my last visit to SA that wasn't to trainwreck watch.
