UK YouTuber who trained girlfriend's pet pug to give Nazi salutes has appeal rejected - Markus Meechan, 32, taught his girlfriend's pug to react to the words "gas the Jews" and other anti-semitic sentences and was convicted of a hate crime

"I have posted an update to the gofundme, sadly, the Supreme Court has rejected my appeal. We are currently seeking counsel with an expert on the ECHR and will post further updates once we have further information."

A YouTuber who trained his girlfriend's dog to give Nazi salutes and was convicted of hate crime has had his appeal rejected by the Supreme Court.

Markus Meechan, 32, who uses the nickname Count Dankula, was prosecuted after teaching the dog, a pug named Buddha, to perform the offensive gesture.

He was convicted of a hate crime in communicating a video which was "grossly offensive" after denying the charge at a trial at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

In April 2018 Meechan was given a fine of £800 and was told to pay it within six months, but he publicly stated he would refuse to do so.

Meechan, of Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, taught the pug to react to the words "gas the Jews" and filmed it for his YouTube channel in 2017, supposedly to annoy his girlfriend.

The dog was also seen raising a paw to fascist chant "Sieg Heil" during the footage called "M8 Yur Dug's a Nazi" which was viewed more than three million times.

The case created a debate around freedom of speech, with comedians such as Ricky Gervais speaking out on Meechan's behalf.

Far-right leader Tommy Robinson attended the trial in support.

About £195,657 was raised on a GoFundMe page to take the appeal to the Supreme Court, which rejected it saying it had "no merit", according to Meehan.

The man, who has since married his girlfriend, is now considering taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights.

He wrote: "As some of you may be aware, we petitioned to the UK Supreme Court to hear our case, a process that took very many months to hear back from and sadly we have received news back that they have refused to hear the case.

"The reason they cited is that my appeal "had no merit" but as of yet, they have provided no information as to specifically why this is.

"After this step we have one final option, the European Court Of Human Rights.

"One hundred per cent of the remaining funds that are left over after legal fees have been paid WILL be donated to charity, I refuse to shift on that stance.

"Ideally I would like to see the funds go to a children's hospital."

The average person being seriously affected.
Optimistic as fuck, they can't even organize enough people not to pay the tax on their shitty televised propaganda machine. America thrashed them 200+ years ago and the cucked mindset became so deeply ingrained that they will never recover.

Expecting the average person to "rise up" without organization is a very romantic notion but sadly it is false.

>forget to pay telly loicense
>automatically fined £500 for thought crime
>automatically fined another £500 for having steak knives in my kitchen
>automatically fined another £500 for not having enough Syrian immigrants living in my house

I hope I don't accidentally do another thought crime, I can't afford it

As a preface: I don't pay the tv license. Don't watch TV because it's shit.

The reason the telly tax isn't being mass-protested yet is because people still think it provides worth, no doubt because they get their information from the primary beneficiary of it, but also because the BBC produces a lot of entertainment that people (for some reason) enjoy.

Thing is, I remember the poll tax riots. We have our limits. We also have this weird, foolish, pride in how long those limits can be stretched, but you can bet people will be good and angry by the time we reach them.

You will need to do something like the Yellow Vests in France. It should be based on something that's universal and can't be attacked easily. Knowing anglos a tea-tax will work wonders.

The United Kingdom is doomed to become a shattered realm and a footnote in history akin to the Timurids or any other forgotten, bygone empire no one has ever heard of.
Hey man, lets be fair. The Timurids were founded by an angry crippled man who rampaged across Central Asia, genocided everyone who remotely pissed him off, and built literal towers of skulls out of the massacred civilian populace of enemy nations.
The UK has done nothing that remotely metal. Their biggest achievement was addicting China to opium and founding the colonial basis for the US (which then kicked them out with the help of their long-time enemies).

You're joking, but you're not wrong.

What it'll be, I think, is dissatisfaction after brexit. We've been promised sunlit uplands and free money from everywhere, but the reality is that we'll be spending years negotiating a new trade relationship with the world, and in the meantime our economy will slow, our standard of living will go down, prices will rise and taxes will likely go up significantly, because they always do. Of course, there's always the risk that we'll all decide to invoke some farcical replay of the "blitz spirit"...

Always found it weird how the Brits take such pride in being able to watch silently as awful shit happens to us. How is that a good thing? "I'm getting fucked in the dick by my government, refugees threw acid in my wife's face, and I work eight days a week on the construction site, but that's okay because I'm British and that means I'm good at coping with adversity."

Some people want a return to the "spirit of the blitz", like it's a good thing that we were suffering during WWII because it gave us a chance to flex how good we are at suffering.

Obligatory US is better post because, even though we shitty, we still better at least at the moment.

There’s wacky hate speech shit going on here but our protection against civil settlements and criminal fines is at least slightly more robust.

The IRS can get fucked but at least the state has got to work for those traffic fines.
If nothing happens the US will turn into the UK.
