I'm sure there is a cut somewhere at Disney with this happening, but I'm believing in our German burger spoiler prophecy as it matches with everything else we've seen.
SW cast are already backstabbing and acting worse than the GoT cast's last season. At least they kept up the buddy-buddy appearance and best season ever to sell it to the normie fans, even if it was painfully obvious that it was going to be a shitshow. What i wouldn't give for backstage footage of the first table read ala GoT S8, where everybody is just disgusted by the butchering of all their characters and years of work going down the drain.

This is an excellent point. It’s genuinely ironic that your average social justice obsessed moron will praise Marx in one tweet then suck Disney’s corporate schlong in the next. I think there’s another layer to that though: the deeper irony that they’ve been manipulated into doing it in the first place as a result of their consumerism.
People like to defend corporate censorship because it get’s the results that they’re ideological sympathetic to; the number of “woke” people okay with companies fighting so-called hate speech is worrying to say the least.
But what if a company manipulated people into classifying criticism of the company itself as hate speech? I used to consider this a dystopian thought experiment but fuck me if that isn’t exactly what’s happening.
“Consume product because you like product” isn’t enough, there’s now also “consume product because if you don’t you’re a bad person”.
There’s a lot of documented exceptionalism and incompetence in Disney, but part of me wonders if the reality is less “go woke, go broke” and more “go woke, and twitter communists will look the other way while you buy up every major media company in the country, and go to bat for you while you do it.”
I get that the social justice crowd is fickle and never pleased, but I’m convinced that someone in a boardroom somewhere thought that putting effort into manipulating them was better than the alternative.

The evolution of basically the cratering of the entire idea of male and female relationships is fascinating, first there was the "Married With Children" era in which people made each other miserable and the skyrocketing divorce rates, now with my generation they don't even bother to try.

I tried to feel something when looking at that trailer. I really, really did.
I felt mild discomfort and tiredness when looking at this. It's blatantly evident how much of a shitshow this will be.
Also, Rey is still a super Sue from the looks of 1:10. Weren't these speeders supposed to be threatening? It took Luke actual effort to shake them off in ROTJ, at least.

You know what the sad part is? As Rich Evans pointed out, even though it is completely stupid that The Emperor is in this movie and even though it is as lazy and desperate as it gets, I know that old motherfucker is going to be the most entertaining thing in the whole movie.
You know what? Having read the earlier Vader comics, I actually kind of liked her initially...until muh diversity and muh progressivism clearly took over when writing for her.
