UK YouTuber who trained girlfriend's pet pug to give Nazi salutes has appeal rejected - Markus Meechan, 32, taught his girlfriend's pug to react to the words "gas the Jews" and other anti-semitic sentences and was convicted of a hate crime

"I have posted an update to the gofundme, sadly, the Supreme Court has rejected my appeal. We are currently seeking counsel with an expert on the ECHR and will post further updates once we have further information."

A YouTuber who trained his girlfriend's dog to give Nazi salutes and was convicted of hate crime has had his appeal rejected by the Supreme Court.

Markus Meechan, 32, who uses the nickname Count Dankula, was prosecuted after teaching the dog, a pug named Buddha, to perform the offensive gesture.

He was convicted of a hate crime in communicating a video which was "grossly offensive" after denying the charge at a trial at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

In April 2018 Meechan was given a fine of £800 and was told to pay it within six months, but he publicly stated he would refuse to do so.

Meechan, of Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, taught the pug to react to the words "gas the Jews" and filmed it for his YouTube channel in 2017, supposedly to annoy his girlfriend.

The dog was also seen raising a paw to fascist chant "Sieg Heil" during the footage called "M8 Yur Dug's a Nazi" which was viewed more than three million times.

The case created a debate around freedom of speech, with comedians such as Ricky Gervais speaking out on Meechan's behalf.

Far-right leader Tommy Robinson attended the trial in support.

About £195,657 was raised on a GoFundMe page to take the appeal to the Supreme Court, which rejected it saying it had "no merit", according to Meehan.

The man, who has since married his girlfriend, is now considering taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights.

He wrote: "As some of you may be aware, we petitioned to the UK Supreme Court to hear our case, a process that took very many months to hear back from and sadly we have received news back that they have refused to hear the case.

"The reason they cited is that my appeal "had no merit" but as of yet, they have provided no information as to specifically why this is.

"After this step we have one final option, the European Court Of Human Rights.

"One hundred per cent of the remaining funds that are left over after legal fees have been paid WILL be donated to charity, I refuse to shift on that stance.

"Ideally I would like to see the funds go to a children's hospital."

If Hitler hadn't been such an irrational maniac he could have invaded Russia, alongside a 2 million strong Polish Army. He could have done a deal with Poland over Danzig, but he couldn't help himself.
I hope that some day we can have a thread in A&H that doesn't end up in a discussion of the pros and cons of Operation Barbarossa.

Sucks about the appeal being shunted... would be funny if he tried tackling it via the EU courts, y'know, for the giggles.

As for the whole paypig thing, lads, we dinnae even do our own taxes, that shit's getting deducted regardless, we just get to decide on how sorely the fecking will be.

Who the fuck let this happen? I am so fucking ashamed of my own country. Everyone here is so fucking incompetent that they let their government-run around like a fucking authoritarian little bitch.

You all did.

And you don't have the option to 1776 your benevolent oppressors because you were so reasonable and broad-minded and civilized and peaceful that you gave to your right to self-defense and self-ownership.

Let the English people be a cautionary example to everyone else on the planet if that's all they're good for now. Or maybe you'll stand up and prove to us the "American fighting spirit" was in our blood from the beginning. I'm not hopeful, though.

Hitler got on alright with Piludski. A deal could probably have been reached if his successors hadn't been weak, and Britain and France had not encouraged them to be intransigent.

Funny, but the leader of the Polish government in exile, Sikorski, who had been on the outs with Piludski's successors, would then be suspiciously killed in an aeroplane accident during the war as he was opposed to Britain giving over the sovereignty of the country the war was supposedly fought for (of course it wasn't actually fought for the Polish) to the Soviets. Was it the Soviets who dun it? No, probably the British. So much blood on British hands.

Maybe we made a mistake in letting the japs bomb pearl harbor and siding with the cucks instead of the germans
Almost like Roosevelt shouldn't have put oil sanctions on Japan. Sanctions are nothing but war by other means.

I would like to add, now that I have found the bottom of my bottle of rum, that while this was brought to the supreme court, the law in question, and in fact the entire legal system under which Dank was prosecuted and fined, is Scottish. The English legal system has no mechanism by which a bank account may be unilaterally garnished to pay a fine. I know this by bitter and yet fruitful experience.

The Supreme Court is implicitely claiming that it does not have the authority to override Scottish law. This is quite an interesting precedent.

Two generations of massive swathes of strong young men dying horribly for King and Country in the same century. Germany also has this problem but on an even worse scale.
Remember.
It’s all because a dipshit limo driver got lost and an autistic Serb wanted a sandwich.
Goddamn Serbs. The most irrelevant and pathetic nation which has somehow had the misfortune of influencing history for the worst.

Come now, it's not really our fault when you baka gaijins keep invading our home shit home and end up taking it from Ahmed and Jamal in the ass as a result, and not even in the Greek way mind you.

The UK is a nation of dog lovers (hopefully not literally), and also a nation that fucking loves a risqué joke. Whoever reported Dank is, I guarantee, the most unpopular person in both the office and at parties. Likewise the wig that decided this case had any legal merit at all. I take it the sjw spinning daleks were the ones who contacted the police?

Also, this is Scottish law, not English, which is a different thing again. Although if Dank was in England they'd probably have given him a prison setence.

The only offensive content here is the judge treating the complaints with legitimacy. This case never should've gone to court, and whoever didn't just laugh and walk away from the first reports needs to step outside for a moment and see the real world. A dog making a gesture is the least of Scotland and the UK's worries right now.

Why the fuck is this happening UK? Where's your fucking spine, you owned the damn world just about at one point.

Utter nonsense. Poland would never have surrendered its sovereignty to Germany, and Germany only became such a powerhouse in the first place because it relied on stealing the resources of other nations to compensate for its unsustainable economic practices. Poland was also created out of territories that used to belong to Germany during the Great War. Nationalist feelings on both sides were simply too strong to allow long-term cooperation, hence why Poland spent most of its time between the two wars trying to form as many military alliances with nations further west as possible.

"Oi, do you have a loicence for that spoine you bloody kuffar?"

You know, the Timurids continued to be the Mughal Empire, one of the richest and most powerful empires of its time, ruling over most of India until the second half of the 19th century. How will the UK continue by comparison?

Some argue that there were (((other reasons))) beyond just that one.

This is a great question actually. Has there been any release of the name of the prosecutor involved, or better yet the person who reported him? I'll bet the latter has boasted somewhere, at least to their shitbird friends.

Sheriff Derek O’Carroll was presiding at the Airdie Sheriff's Court which originally convicted him.
