Haven't seen anyone talk about this: operating under the very likely to be true assumption that Phil and Khet don't have any kind of prenup, what's the soulmaid's liability in all of this? Does property automatically become a shared asset/liability upon exchanging vows or would she need to be explicitly added as an owner?
I looked into this during the marriage saga in the vain of divorce. So long as they werent together when it was bought, and she never signed onto ownership of it, she is legally debt free from the house.

This will fuck Phil, and only Phil.

First, QoP having some family dirt dropped on the farms, and now we get to see the bacon fry in the Connecticondo? Merry christmahannukwanzakaa to us all!

How long until we get a black shirt begging shtreem/video where he lays out how he is totally fucked, can't pay this taxes, he's being sued for his cahndo, and now he really really needs your help with cheerssubsandtips but mostly tips to hopefully get him out of this situation?

So that $400,000 estimated value drops tremendously when you add all this crap up. Sorry but I don't see his unit getting over $300,00 with how I am picturing it right now.
Numerous people in his gated community have sold their units for in excess of $300K in the past 18 months.

Unit 4, 15, 17, and 31:

Kat technically doesn't owe anything.

In reality, her husband fucked over their chances of getting refinanced. He is getting sued for not paying his mortgage. If he doesn't get this sorted out he will have debt collectors coming after him.

Imagine the amount of stress this puts on Phil. He has no one to talk to except Kat so the stress gets passed onto her.

To say this won't effect Kat just isn't true in the slightest. She probably already has some conflicting feelings if she is a normal adult woman. Her husband is almost 40. He has no job besides playing video games and begging for change. His parents just this year have paid for their trip to Connecticut, their wedding, $5k for taxes, a fee hundred for an exercise bike, a couple hundred for an air fryer, Halloween and Christmas decor, a thanksgiving feast, and soon a Christmas dinner. Dude, at this point just move back in with them.

A normal woman might start to wonder if she married a man or a child.

And now he's $101k in debt because why? "That idiot property management guy tried to call me while I was busy working at playing Mario! I TOLD HIM NOT TO CALL ME! EMAIL ONLY!"

No. If DSP took out the debt before they got married it's not her obligation to repay it and never will be.

How do you think roach approached poor Katherine about this? Surely someone in his admittedly small social circle would voice concerns about ignoring his fucking mortgage payments, especially right off of his apparent 'forgetting to pay his taxes' beggathons - I don't know what kind of backwards logic his mother used to come up with this plan (assuming he isn't just using her to avoid taking the blame himself), but I imagine them to be the kind of person that buys lottery tickets thinking they're guarantee'd to win the Thunderball this week because "17 HASN'T COME UP IN A WHILE SO IT'S DUE THAT'S HOW STATISTICS WORK".

If he has any hopes of getting a refinance on the WAkhando he probably doesn't understand what kind of a shitstorm he's let himself in for. I seriously can't see anyone without a serious mental handicap not foreseeing this situation well in advance of it happening - especially somebody with a degree in finance.

"Hello hello hello my little gold digger, latta peepul at the benk been sayin I make six figurs well guess what - I'm taking mamas advice and not paying those braindead idiots for the other house I own. Thanks for the money stupid fucks ACKACKACK."

True in my country as well. Over here she would own a share of the asset, though, proportional to 50% of the amount of marital property (I.e. Income generated after their wedding) he used to pay it off. Is it like that in the US?

I suspect like every conversation occurs in the Burnell household. Phil rambles, Kathy doesn't care as long as she gets her monies and can live comfortably in a nice gated community in an affluent Seattle suburb. The second that's gone... boom, outta there.

Well, this is a nice thing to come back from hiatus to.

I already know how Phil's getting out of this one. His "dying" parents will bite the dust and he'll use all the inheritance to pay off his legal fees, doing the same thing CWC did with Bob's money.

Deep down we all know he's counting the days until both of them drop. To him, they have outlived their usefulness, and he really couldn't give less of a shit about the food they send him for holidays. A burger from Wendy's is good enough. He sure likes to reflect that when he frequently mentions their deteriorating health

Nope. It's his condo unless she starts making payments toward it. If she starts making payments toward it she'd have a weak argument that she was entitled to equity in it, but it wouldn't be a guarantee.

Each state is different. Washington is not an equitable distribution state. Each spouse is entitled to 50% of what they acquire after their marriage, though, like in your situation.

It's hard to imagine that you can earn six figures and still still not only fail to pay your monthly dues, but also rack up significant debt on nothing.
I don't follow dsp drama, can someone enlighten me what the duck is he spending money on to get in debt? He sits on the same couch playing video games, which are cheap all things considered.

He spends it on various credit cards and bills from living outside his means, eating out and indulging Kat and himself's every whim

What's his realistic spending window considering he sleeps probably 10+h and pays games for another 10? Assuming he bathes and doesn't move at hypersonic speeds, he had maybe two hours per day for this idiocy.

The most amazing thing that his "job" doesnt require to spend a lot of money. Still.

I'll enjoy hearing Null and his feeder laugh as he celebrates with us on Wednesday's stream. Only way this could get any better is if drama actively starts during Phil's stream.

Cooking is an essential skill for damn near anyone, not just because you can feed yourself; you can save a lot of money for not having others do it for you. Restaurants and those home delivery meals or whatever the fuck they are cost more than making shit yourself. Obviously it takes more time and effort for a reduced cost if you do everything from scratch, but even buying premade ingredients and doing it yourself is far cheaper than relying on others. I'd wager that's where a lot of their money goes, aside from these stupid small $30 tree purchases and shit they do.
