And that truly seems to have been a late addition in the whirlwind of reshoots and reedits, as it does not change the bare bone structure of the final fight, with the chain of events going like this:
- Kylo is thrown in the abyss never to be seen again;
- Rey wins;
(- Rey dies; )
(- Kylo comes back from the abyss and brings her back; )
- Kylo dies, Rey lives.

As much as pretty much everyone in this thread will tell you not to do it, the more important thing is that you're spending time with your family (because these movies are really about family after all). I don't want to see the Rat get any money for this shit, but you should at least be there for moral support when the last bit of hope your stepdad has left dies.
Afterwards, go grab the Despecialized Edition and watch it together. The healing can begin then.

I even believe that he is going to run no matter WHO wins in 2020. If the Dems beat out Trump he will run as a Republican. A strong business leader who will fight the Dems socialism. If Trump wins, he will run as a Democrat, a compassionate boss who supports many charitable enterprises with the skills to heal the divisions in this country caused by bad orange man.

It is about equal on who gets the blame.
JJ gets blame for relying on Member Berries so heavily in VII, and also for all his mystery box shit which I don't believe he had definitive answers for (and if he did, he didn't tell anybody).
Rian gets blame for blowing up all the mystery box shit and replacing it with almost nothing for the director of IX to work with.
Kennedy gets blame for pushing identity politics and using that to shield the movie from criticism when the energy should have been towards making good movies. As long as the diversity checkboxes were met, then she allowed the questionable decisions. I mean, we can blame JJ for his bad decisions and Rian for his subversion of expectations...but fuck, she let them do it.
Iger gets blame for just wanting to make money and allowing all of this shit to happen on his watch feeling that everything would be fine because Star Wars = Money! In my mind, I picture any meetings going like "Will it make money?" "Yes!" and then Bob is like "Alright then".
