What is Magia Record?

Being called 'FGO's little sister' in Japan, it is basically Fate Grand Order but with all units replaced with kawaii desu lesbo waifus.

In this game, you play as the weird incarnation of the series demon Kyubey, helping Female Jesus Iroha Tamaki through her way to find her disappeared little sister who Iroha forgets about her existence until the end of Chapter 1. On her way and your guidance, Iroha met many lesbo magical girls and eventually find out why her sister disappeared.

The black bob hair girl has never appeared on the game. It is a new character specifically design for the anime. People speculate that the addition of new character is to improve the story since the story of the game kinda sucks. Personally, I think the story is sorta okay, but I digress.


PS. if you start to play the game now, choose Mami as your first magical girl. Her binding ability will help you to get through a lot.

I have the phone game. My biggest hope for this series is that it brings up enough interest for SHAFT to get on with making the sequel to Rebellion already, the cliffhanger remains as infuriating as ever.

Also, I just want to see more of Inu Curry's stuff again.

Urobuchi is bored of doing gritty dark themes so... i guess when his income starts depleting from his shitshow godzilla experiments he will do it.

EDIT: His new project is a youtube anime called Obsolete, it looks like stop motion cgi animation garbage. I hope it bombs so he will go back to his megucas and psycho pass.

The Madoka fanbase is fucking weird. It's filled with Fujoshits who won't admit they're lesbians/ bisexual. It's not even really sexual, even the psycho sexual stuff is tame until you hit the videogames and see Homulily. Up until Homulily, you can make the argument that it's only as horny as the observer.
Some of the designs for the witches would make Georgia O'Keeffe blush.It's less of pedophile bait and more of a litmus test for how much of a lesbian you are. It's kind of sad because my favorite Madokas (Kosane, Livia and creepy clown girl) probably won't make it to any English shows or games.

Jesus didn't drop the ball like God Madoka and Ultimate Madoka did. Maybe Final Madoka can fix it this time around. Ultimately, like all whimsical fantasy stories, it turns into hard science fiction towards the end.

The Lesbian thing is just Japanese Girl Love gone wrong. Only really 8 couples in the whole franchise. 4 of which are one sided stalker affairs and two of which are just normal girls being girls, until the boys get involved.

There's currently a new one. Same shit different year, different fujoshis and faggots whining about "male gaze, male designed characters" designed by a woman.

This thread is basically DOA, but I'm gonna post my impression on the game so far at almost 2 weeks of release of Magia Exedra.

This game is definitely not F2P friendly. In these two weeks, they've released so many 5 stars, that catching up is impossible unless you spend. The rewards from doing dailies and getting achievements is so low, that just to get one pull it might take a couple of days. You need 300 stones for one pull, 3,000 for 10. If you're familiar with JP gachas, you know how it works. Portraits, aka Light Cones in HSR, are obtainable in game, so you only draw girls.

The game has PvP with 5 tries per day and you can buy more with stones, but of course, how can you compete with the spenders?

Story? If you watched Puella and Magia, that's it. Combat is like HSR: Monsters have a break meter and are weak to certain elements, so you break them and keep attacking to get max break percentage, then throw your strongest attacks for big damage. The game has a semi auto and full auto battle, but the AI is retarded and takes too long.

The game is slow with animations taking forever, as well as long and multiples loading screens. It's also slow with progression, as some materials are locked behind a rank. Players have both a player level and a rank. This rank is leveled up by getting pieces of Puella Picturas, that in turn you get by progressing in the game. The girls can level their levels, which can't exceed the player's (not rank), magia (unlocked by their levels), and skills. Skill leveling depends on the girl's Ascension (dupes). You can also ascend Portraits with dupes and level them up as well.

I don't have high hopes for this game. Record was supposedly more player friendly and it shut down quickly. I expect this game to shut down quickly as well.
 
To this day, I'll never understand why anyone wastes their time with gacha. The games are designed to take advantage of addicts with poor spending impulse control, so progress will always be stone-walled at some point unless you pay hand-over-fist. The games often play themselves on fast-forward, which is the developers admitting that the gameplay is grindy and uninteresting. Oh, and eventually the publishers will pull the plug because running the game's servers is no-longer financially solvent, so all those precious waifu JPEGs you spent hard-earned cash on will go right down the toilet.

If you're that starved for some Madoka-themed action, then just go play a real game for fuck's sake.
