Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Mandy was supposedly born naturally from a Mandalorian woman, Boba was born in a fucking lab on Kamino. He did love and respect his dad but I dont think Jango Fett had time to properly teach him Mandalorian values and philosophy before getting yeeted by Windu. Boba was then raised by other bounty hunters, adopting THEIR culture more than a mandalorian, so while he may be biologically one, culturally he is barely one. He has his own set of values and limits (I remember mentioning that while he was cold stone, he did beat up Jabba's goons when they were attempting to rape Leia, evidence that shit like that is just going too far to him). Yes, it would be interesting seeing Mandy and Boba clashing perhaps not physically but in terms of both morality and their own native culture.
I thought that original canon was that Jango/Boba was never a mango but rather had aqquired the uniform by means fair or foul. I also vaguely remember somewhere the idea that the mandos were extinct or very rare dispersed. This wasn’t newer canon it would have been old. If I’m wrong cool but that just keeps pinging the back of my brain

This is depressing, but the good kind! Alec's pained and haunted expressions during that scene totally sells the Vader reveal (from a different point of view) retcon later.
An actor who is able to give a performance like this to a part he fucking despises and doesnt give two shits about is an actor too fucking good for the industry.

...and disney stole his dead voice to shill for fucking Rey at the end of this trainwreck finale.

Havent watched the Mandalorian yet but holy fuck this music is good. The theme music came up on my recommended list and I love the woodwind/bass combo.

Actual new styles of music in Star Wars. I never thought I'd see anything beyond John Williams rehashes ever again.

The music is fantastic, it's Ludwig Goransson. The same guy who did the "Creed" soundtrack.

Guy is a monumental talent. I adore the skeleton of the main theme; it's a galloping horse.

Everyone said Michael Gianccino would be Wlliams successor. I think Ludwig is better, much better. He isn't an imitator; he can work within the style(which is Richard Wagner). But, he leans on his own sensibilites; he loves his bass trombones...

I would love to see what he would do with Williams's opening crawl/fanfare: whenever they decide to bring back the opening march outside of the Skywalker stuff..

Waifufags are a sick bunch. These are the kind of fuckers Disney has nurtured for their new fanbase. Either shippers or creepy stalker dudes who obsess too much over characters being potential wives/husbands or simply wanting to be their cucked slave that wants to see them fuck while they watch, then again that's pretty much shippers in a nutshell. Seriously the amount of shit coming out from GE speds is really fucking creepy. There have been entire threads dedicated to taking pics of the park's Rey from almost every angle imaginable and also seeing who can get the closest to her, and some of these idiots even asking each other if they've gotten a chance to sniff her or the redheaded First Order girl. Some of these guys are also supposedly spending a fortune for annual passes or daily visits plus a ton of merch just so they can stalk and obsess over these girls on a daily basis. They're not just stalking the actors now (which is sadly a standard for Hollywood-obsessed troglodytes), they stalk anyone that's even dressed like them and also has the Disney seal of approval, because some of these fuckers actually treat the park's Rey as the real Rey because "according to nu-canon, Rey is actually there, so its like I'm with her omg!".

When the first stalker posts on 4chan, Twitter and Facebook started to pop up, I thought they were just trolling the park's cast or being ironic, but its clear they are deeply attracted to the images of these people and love Disney Wars. The whole Disney fanbase needs a fucking purging.

And no one is interested in Vi Moradi to the surprise of no one (guess that's what happens when you're based on some nobody with PMS from some crazy author's period story). Not even most kids give a fuck.

1980's lore said the Mandalorians were an elite military force from the planet Mandalore that had been vanquished by the Jedi during the Clone Wars.

Boba Fett was equipped like a Mandalorian, but it was left undetermined whether he actually was one.

Shes hiding from the Krazy Klaud Krew, who after slaughtering every slant eyed yellow chinky-dink they could find in the park have turned their wrath onto the jigaboos in their midst

The way of the Mandalorian is like a religion/cultural practice. You can choose whether you follow it or not and anyone with the guts for it is welcome even if they weren't born into it (although this may vary per faction). And the stuff about the armor being stolen is mostly from Filoni Wars' pussyfist Mandos, who regard the Death Watch, the Fetts and battle as evil and share nothing in common with pre-existing mando culture (unlike the Death Watch) because they only want to be seen as a peaceful and loving pristine society of cube loving pussies (as for gaining the armor, that's another thing entirely). Doesn't even matter if his father was once a follower of the Mando religion/code (which Jango kinda dropped after his step-father was killed) or if Boba knew the religion/culture himself, Boba was for most of his life a merc who followed his own moral code and just ran with survival of the fittest and did what he needed to do to stay on top. His view towards it in his golden years is another matter.

No...but I suppose I can't blame you for forgetting about Mundane Matt.

@RomanesEuntDomus I don't see how this trilogy had any chance overall. How, never mind why, would you ever want to try to continue such a good story that resolved almost all the conflict within it that ended decades ago (especially with a new set of characters within the old character's timelines who I am 100% convinced couldn't have been written in without either being pointless themselves or making the previous ones pointless)? If it was the Thrawn story stuff (not familiar with that), they might have had a chance, but in this case, no way. Not with the way they handled the new characters.
I have to disagree on that, tbh. I think it would have been possible to make a "passing of the Torch" movie. The old actors are old and their characters aren't going to be filling the same roles as before. Leia and Han should be politicians, so they can't go on undercover missions and the likes. This opens a space for new characters. This does not invalidate the old characters, it reinforces them by acknowledging their growth since we last saw them.

The point is: This has to be done smartly and we evidently didn't get that. Han is still a smuggler (and worse at it than ever), Leia is a disgraced politician, Luke a failure. This isn't the logical consequence of coming up with a new story to happen after ROTJ, it's the work of incompetent and unimaginative writers.

2) I refuse to see how Finn's "story" no matter how interesting it could have been spun could be spun over the course of 3 movies never mind 1 especially if they don't give him force powers or make him some love interest. Seriously, and I don't mean to be an ass to you personally for saying this, but I really like to know from all the people who claim Finn's story was so interesting/had potential, could have been stretched out to 3 movies. And keep in mind, you have to additionally make his story arc matter to the overall plot as well.
Finn's story was handled like shit, no one seems to argue about that.
One possible way to do it would be to have Finn be the impetus for a Stormtrooper revolt against the Empire.

Here's a broad sketch of how this could possibly pan out in the movies:
In VII he leaves the bad guys and joins the good guys. We learn a bit about his perspective, about the world beyond the New Republic and shed some light on what has been going on in the time between the two movies. He has a short engagement with a former fellow soldier, for sake of easier summarization, I call him Bob, who accuses him of being a traitor.

In VIII Bob acts sort of as a Nemesis that tries to find and kill Finn. This conflict intertwines with the general plot and leads to another confrontation. Finn defeats his former comrade, but refuses to kill him. Bob is left to contemplate what just happened and can't quite reconcile it with what he thought about his former friend, this leads to Bob growing weary of the Empire as well.
Finn could give Bob some short info-dump about the Empire that lead to Finn's deprogramming, Bob then checks the truth behind this and finds out for himself. A troubled Bob is left alone inside the ranks of the Stromtroopers. This info-dump-thing can also happen in VII but Bob doesn't validate the truth up until VIII, really depends on pacing and overall plot.

IX starts after a certain timeskip and Bob still is Finn's mortal enemy (it seems). Some point in the movie, Bob shows his true colors, that he, too, now sees the Empire for what it is, he found a few likeminded Stormtroopers and they instigate a coup within the ranks of the Empire.

Not saying this is perfect, not saying this is best, but it shows a character arc over 3 movies, which is something you deny being possible for -frankly- ridiculous reasons.
It's like saying "I don't see how Han's character could be interesting for more than maybe half a movie. He's not even a Jedi!" as if that was somehow a prerequisite for interesting characters...

3) Kylo and Snoke, just based on the conception behind the character alone, is proof that Luke, Han, and Leia are failures. Again, I can't stress this enough, there was no way they could have "continued" the so-called Skywalker saga without even slightly damaging the main cast of the original trilogy because you essentially have to both A) introduce a new threat and B) introduce a new protagonist to deal with the new threat(s). If you do both of those, you immediately damage the old cast no matter what even if they could have been helpful to the new characters (although that's preferred to utterly annihilating them).
Again, I disagree. It obviously depends on how it is handled, but the rise of a new threat doesn't shit on the old characters. Making Leia's son fall to the dark side is massively stupid and unless handled really well will shit massively on the old cast (even handling it stellarly is a bit of a stab at the old cast, to be sure, but if it's executed well, it might still be entertaining), but the presence of a new Big Bad Evil Guy being damaging to the old cast? I don't see it. At all.

It's not like Leia, Han and Luke are the divine trinity of their universe that are all-knowing and all-pwerful, that can just snap evil dudes out of existence.

The problem isn't so much the What, but rather the How.

How did an BBEG pop up and become powerful enough to challenge the new Republic all of a sudden?
If the answer to that is "lol, the old geezers just abolished their army and watched idly as the new BBEG fucked up entire Star Systems for 20 years", then that's unmitigated bullshit.

It seems like you think that after ROTJ, the setting was frozen in its state without any chance to change or develope and I don't see why that should be the case.

Ever heard the expression "too many cooks..."?

This movie is the personification.
Too many cooks, when it was only 2 guys that were involved. Jeez. That really shows the incompetence at play...

I was going to wait until the movie finished but I can't wait I have to show you now.

DARTH REY JUMPSCARES HERSELF BY BARING HER TEETH AND SHE HAS CGI POINTY TEETH IT'S LIKE A SHITTY HORROR MOVIE

Because the point is, if you can't find a way to get Finn to matter to the overall plot, i.e. stopping the Sith from ruining people's shit and/or having some kind of meaningful bond with the main character, then he's an insignificant character that I shouldn't bother caring about. It's that simple.
Finn doesn't have to be the pivotal centre of the plot to matter.
He should be important to what is going on and he should be important to the main characters. But when you talk, it seems like you don't fel any character matters, unless they plunge a dagger in the BBEG's back themselves.

Think of LOTR, there's a shitton of important character, but how many actually are directly involved with defeating Sauron? How many of them actually touch the ring or go to Mount Doom? To say they didn't matter for such arbitrary pre-requesites is kind of weird.

I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I feel this is a very narrow way of looking at things.

More entertaining than the movie.

HA! Hilarious! Though, I'm pretty damn sure that the women screeching are just butthurt that their hottie Kylo died. lol.
At this point: Who cares? As long as they hate the movie. As many people as possible should hate this, for whatever reason. I want to see this underperform, I don't even care what silly reasons some people might have to hate it - even if they hate it for retconning that atrocious TLJ shitfest, as long as it makes the movie lose money.

Not that I'm a Reylo shipper (far from it), but Ben dying has got to be the most predictable shit ever.
One of the things that I was wondering since TFA: What can you do with Kylo Ren?
If he redeems himself and dies, it's like Vader, if he redeems himself and lives, it's weird (dude was a major fuckhead, he needs to pay for it) and if he doesn't redeem himself and dies, it will feel unsatisfactory.

No matter what you do, this character was always going to be a letdown.

The Last Jedi essentially says "Fuck it, Kylo is the new Darth Vader of this trilogy. We made you think we were doing something else, but nevermind! Tricked you again! *insert Rian Johnson garden gnome laugh here*"
I like how Plan IX goes "Kylo Ren is supreme leader" in the title crawl and not even 100 seconds after, he bends the knee to accept Palpatine as his TRUE and HONEST leader.

You might be reading too much into this. This is 4chan we're talking about. Most see a cute autistic girl and their 'tism goes into overdrive.

Also, I haven't had the opportunity to keep up with the thread, but why the fuck does TROS have an 86% audience rating? Did they watch the same movie?

I thought the idea with Mandalorians was pure-bloods and adoptees.

Purebloods could trace their lineage to the settlers of Mandalore, and everyone else are accepted/adopted followers.

But, only purebloods could get certain positions. I'm guessing, in this case, the lady armorer who has an oddly aristocratic sounding accent...
