Forums were still state of the art in the early 2010s, 'twas only in the mid-2010s that I saw the many forums I use to suddenly start loosing activity and members fast.I was a kid in the early 2000's but I always saw something magical in the old forums. There was a website for everything instead of having it all concentrated on a social media site that doesn't let any sort of creativity and has the same plain interface.
you could form a small following as an artist at a forum instead of being only on social media and hope someone notices.
I'll take an economic collapse over this period of decay anytime, and there won't be any bailouts this time around. The coming depression is going to make the 1930s look like the best time to be alive, but at least in the ensuing chaos people will be able to pick up the pieces and rebuild society. In 2029 you'll all be begging for the 2010s. They all decided to move to facebook pages, it makes me sad that I can't leave facebook since every SCA group out there wants you to use the facebook page and not a forum.Forums were still state of the art in the early 2010s, 'twas only in the mid-2010s that I saw the many forums I use to suddenly start loosing activity and members fast.

TBH as far as media goes the only things I miss from the 2000s are the sexuality and everything not being a battleground for culture warriors. There's no lack of creativity nowadays. it's just harder to find. And people think the video game industry is dying but there has been so many great releases (I really enjoyed Skyrim, Witcher 3, Civ, Cuphead). people take a very narrow minded view to justify a nostalgic feeling.
I said there was a recession in creativity, not necessarily a lack of it. It's still possible to find great content. What I mean is that overall creative works in this decade have become more streamlined and their quality has been going down. Despite all that, you can still find great content and games being made, and while some of them achieve popularity, most of them get shoved to the wayside. I don't think the video game industry is dying, just decaying from the effects of copyright law and cultural marxism. There's no lack of creativity nowadays. it's just harder to find.
