He's always done that, I think he has delusions that, this time, it will work and will drive his numbers back up.

Again, he's trying to go back to the old days, hoping for that old glory. Anita, however, has moved on, probably to a newer, hopefully (for her) more lucrative scams to part suckers from their money. Like Spoony, he needs to move on.

Anita left gaming forever for a couple months because it didn't make money, but now she's back trying to crowdfund a gaming harassment support hotline.
She's just as pathetic as Matt and they deserve each other.

I get the impression that Matt's dream would be being a member of a completely non ironic version of the Nerd Crew.

There's so many aspects to Matt that are just a little bit off. Mark Collett was on the killstream a few months back and he pointed out that the idea of going shopping for bargain basement DVD's and then reviewing them is actually a really interesting idea. Matt however just wanders around supermarkets talking about DVD covers. He's got all these half formed ideas that just develop into shit.

The best thing he could do is to actually grow a back bone and push back against some of the stick he's been getting. What really enraged everyone on that killstream was the way that once he was caught out he just rolled over. If he showed some dignity and fight, he might actually get some viewers and engagement.

I disagree. As I've said before, the enraging part of the Killstream was that he lied to everyone's faces because he knew how he'd be perceived, and as much of a bitch move as just coming out and saying "Yep, flagged your ass, you dipshit bully-jerks, hope YT kicks you to the curb," would have been, at least he'd be standing by his actions. It's hard to say what would have been better than rolling over after the big reveal, but trying to turn internet tough guy after getting unmanned in that manner wasn't it either.

Which brings us to today. Matt does a pathetic job trying to turn boulders into a joke, and goes internet tough guy on people who point out his history of being a little bitch. And it looks sad. He tries to start shit with people bigger than him while calling them irrelevant and looks like a tiny dog trying to attack a bear.

Honestly, the only way he could have gotten through that was to eat some serious humble pie (not the bullshit, too late, on Tumblr, only-because-I-got-caught-and-oh-shit-my-channel's-gonna-die "apologies") and then recognize that he was going to be hit with shit for the rest of his time on the internet over it. That maybe, if he actually made an effort to focus on making good content and weathered the people going "wait a minute, isn't this guy a big false flagger" rather than trying (and failing) to internet slap-fight them, maybe maybe he could start to see growth again.

His YouTube career hit its zenith a long time ago. Even if he hadn't been the cow he is, he's just not good at YouTube. Hell, even as a cow, he's fucking boring.

Jeff and Matt are losers who are stuck with each other and resent anyone who moves up beyond them (RM was with them at Kilroy. Again, can't find it, but there was a fun clip from Jeff's 360 cam where he's (quite drunkenly) trying real hard to show it off to her and she nopes out with her boyfriend). This shit is salt. Pure. Unadulterated. Salt.

Dude, I've said this before and I'll say it again - whatever he would have done, he false flagged people's channels, which is one of the scummiest things to do on the internet. It doesn't matter if he has thrown it in people's faces or done what he has done, now people know that he is able to sink that low. The only way for him to get away with it was to leave after Zidan brought up flagging history. It would've left the feeling that he is guilty, but without any evidence.
